Server was fantastic and knew the menu and how things were prepared exceptionally well. Something that is lost today. Oysters were fresh and delicious. All entree items were awesome as well. Large portions too!

We went to Maxie's before a baseball game at Miller Park. I called to see if reservations were needed or what the wait was and was told come on in and we could get seated right away. Upon pulling up to the establishment it looked visually appealing and clean. Once inside it was apparent there were plenty of tables open to be seated however we had to wait 15 minutes because of someone being late for there shift which we overheard and no staff explained to us. I was confused as to why one of the 3 servers in front of us couldn't get us seated and offer us some cold adult beverages to quench our thirst and get us primed for the big game ahead. Also not to mention I along with any other sensible individual would rather have drinks there so not as many $9 beers would require purchasing at the park. To me that would seem like smart business practice. When we finally got seated our server was very attentive and knew the menu well. No one in our group of 5 had anything they didn't. I personally was like a shark on a feeding frenzy and devoured 30 oysters and just as many raw shrimp which were excellent.
I was able to try some of my friends dishes which were more authentic to the restaurant in nature and it was good but was hoping for more given the cost. We did not hang around for desert due to wanting to get to the game.
If I were to return I would just stick to the shrimp and oysters.

We are sorry to hear of your average experience at Maxie's, as you should expect and enjoy excellent experiences here. While we cannot seat partial parties, we are also confused why you were not at least offered a seat at the bar, where our drinks are certainly less expensive than the ballpark, especially during Happy Hour. Please contact us at max@maxies.com so that we may further address your experience with the hope you would return to Maxie's.

After seeing reviews on here and hear rave reviews from friends and coworkers we were excited to try this place out. I really wish we hadn't. Throughout our meal we found two long hairs in the food (one in the corn bread and one in the crab cake).Clearly they do not have clean kitchen practices. We waited an unreasonable amount of time for our food. Food was good, not excellent. We will not return.

My wife, our son and his wife enjoyed a wonderful dinner at Maxie's last night. The setting was wonderful- a perfect night with outdoor seating. The food was delicious- we each had something different and thoroughly enjoyed every entree. The service was outstanding- our waiter, PJ, was a delight. Knowledgable, friendly, helpful.
We will be back!

Three couples traveled to Maxie's on a recent Friday night. We utilized the 30 minute call ahead service and were seated at a high top table shortly after our arrival. Great cocktail and beer choices with a southern flair. We ordered the Cajun Popcorn and Pork Confit Flatbread as appetizers. Both were great and could have almost made the meal but there too many interesting choices on the menu. The entrees we selected included Jambalaya, Memphis Baby Back Ribs, Braised Duroc Pork Cheeks from the regular menu and two specials: Seafood Etoufee and Chicken Fried Pork Tenderloin. Each entree was fantastic according to person who ordered it and those that shared with their spouse. Good food, service and atmosphere make for a great evening with friends.
