Very good zoo for Wisconsin! Lots of animals to see, and things to do. Be prepared with walking shoes, and can get a bit pricey. A zoo pass is the way to go if planning on going several times.

This is one of our favorite places to spend a day throughout the year. Excited about the upgrades and renovations coming- always something new to see or experience. My son loves the reptile and aquatic building (which is nice in the winter!) and also the train. We enjoy taking advantage of the Milwaukee County discount and the events planned throughout the year for all ages.

We made a special trip to Milwaukee to see the Animals Inside Out exhibit which is inside the Milwaukee Zoo through April 2018. They've actually extended the exhibit and cut the price to just $5/person, which is a great deal. We've done the Body Worlds exhibits two or three times, and while they're much bigger, they're also much more expensive, so the $5 admission here is really good. Of course, you have to get into the zoo first, so there's that expense (and parking at the zoo is $12, so it all adds up!) At any rate, the Animals Inside Out exhibit took us less than an hour, was not as detailed as the human Body Worlds exhibits, but was definitely worth $5.

The zoo itself was great, too - we have a membership at another zoo closer to home, and that membership gave us reciprocal privileges which made the day more affordable, but we definitely enjoyed ourselves.

I grew up visiting this zoo and have spent many, many days here with my own young children. The train! The carousel! The ice cream over by the petting zoo! We adopted Thumb... and visited him every time we made our loop around the whole park. So very family friendly, at all times of year, not just the best ones for the zoo, in spring and fall.
