Great hotel. Really the only thing that was negative was when we first arrived we had to wait a while before being given our room key. The breakfast served is good and there is some selection. There are 6 elevators in order to try and keep traffic moving which was excellent. The WiFi here though is an open network that doesn’t seem to really need much proof that you are actually a guest. The only other complaint I had was the TV. There was less than 15 channels and the movie selection was limited to about 10-15 and were an additional cost. Overall a great stay I definitely recommend.

The Historic Davenport has a very nice ‘cool’ factor. It seems very turn of the century in style (and stylish it is) but also clean and updated. It finds a nice balance between old and new. It has two nice restaurant/bar areas, and a Starbucks coffee shop (open at 5 AM). It is quiet and the beds are incredibly comfortable. You will sleep well. It is the kind of place you go on a business trip and think you should bring your spouse back for a weekend getaway.

The hotel is fantastic, the staff it great and the building is BEAUTIFUL, it's everything you expect from such a historic and elegant hotel but...The doors don't properly seal to the floor leaving a fairly large gap at the bottom of the door where light from the hallway shines through plus noise and conversations from both the room and hall can be heard.

If you love the sound of freight trains all night long, be sure to ask for a quiet room when you make your reservation. Guaranteed that not only will the trains rumble, but you’ll know whenever the people in the room above you take their showers because the pipes transmit that noise too. You’ll even be tempted to answer the phone that’s ringing on the room next to yours. The service in the Palm Court shouldn’t be called “service” when you have to fetch your own napkins after drinks are served, and the reception desk staff isn’t familiar with how charges are posted to your credit card. Check to be sure that you’re not being charged twice for the same item. But on the bright side, the hotel’s Davenport Home Shop has wonderful items and very helpful, friendly staff. And, if you loved the comfort of the bed you slept on at the hotel, you can even purchase one through the shop so you can have same sleep experience at home but without the freight train sound!

Okay, some of the furnishings are a little tired looking. But this original historic building is off the charts wonderful. The property has done a good job of sprinkling old photographs and memorabilia in a way that you can truly appreciate the history.
