Stumbled across this place one evening whilst looking for somewhere to eat & were pleasantly surprised! Doesn't look much from the outside but has some great home cooked food on offer, perhaps best to apply the insect repellent if eating in the garden though!

Was here for dinner with a friend, the food was awesome and the service even better, they had a lot of different things on the menu, things to cater for all dietary requirements, all taste buds and all types of people. Haven’t had a better meal in Kerikeri, have been in the area quite a lot and eaten in most restaurants - had driven past this place a few times but never actually realised this absolute gem of a restaurant was hidden in the bushes.
Had always just thought this was a garden type scene rather than a restaurant, especially one as good as this.

Had a booking on Easter Saturday, got there and it was very busy. The lovely waitresses took care of us though immediately. We had a bit of a wait but due to the French waitress taking care of our drinks and water and being very attentive all done with a sense of humour we really werent aware of the wait. Food was faultless as always.

We stopped by to have some lunch before heading back to Paihia to catch the ferry for the Hole in the Rock + Dolphin Cruise. BEST DECISION EVER!
We ordered a mango lassie, fish & chips (snapper), Angus beef satay and the baked eggplant Gado Gado.

The mango lassie was quite a size able portion which took two of us to finish. The snapper was battered and deep fried to perfection, the chips light and fluffy with a satisfying crunch! The angus satay was listed as a starter but there was more than enough food there for it to be a main. A very light and refreshing satay sauce, not too heavy to drag you down. The baked eggplant was stuffed full of deliciousness as well and all the food came out nice and piping hot.

Would definitely recommend for anyone wanting some good, safe food. Though I’ll say either book ahead or come a bit earlier if you want to get a table for more than 3-4.
