Best to go during the week otherwise you won’t see the factory operating. But great tasting of cheese / honey experience in a great little historic town.

Try the milk. It’s un-homogenised so tastes like the milk I had growing up.

Milk shakes are wonderful!!

We initially visited in the first week of Jan 2018 (school hols) and it was packed. The staff were super busy and I asked about trying more than the 5 available cheeses on display. The friendly lady advised that it was a little hard during peak periods to get out a variety of extra cheeses to taste but if we came back when it wasn't the peak period of school holidays then they would be more than happy to grab out any of the cheeses for us to try before we buy. She also said they put out different cheeses to try every day. I was happy with that and understood.

We decided to go back today because we loved the kalamata and garlic cheese so much we wanted to get a bigger block and try all the other flavours. We were super excited about trying some extra cheeses today and were hoping it wasn't so busy this time as the drive each way from where we are staying is 45 minutes.
We were pleased it was so quiet, when we tried the cheese there was no one else at the counter.

Half the cheeses on display to taste were the same as last time so I asked if we could try the black garlic, the young girl said no because we don't have any cut up. We then went over to look at the cheeses to buy and picked 3 other flavours we would like to try before we purchased. I went back to the counter to ask about trying them and was once again bluntly told no because there were none cut up.
We were really disappointed and only purchased the kalamata and garlic and the vintage blue because I'm not willing to spend $8 on a wedge of cheese we couldn't taste before we purchased.
There was about 6 people in the whole shop at the time and I'm unsure why she couldn't have just cut up a few flavours and stored under the counter like you do the rest, especially when we were told a week earlier that we could ask to try any other flavour or type of cheese next time and the staff would be happy to accomodate.

We were keen to buy a lot more cheese to take home to Newcastle but your staff member made it impossible for that to happen.

Hopefully if we decide to visit again in the future we can try all the cheeses we are interested in buying for ourselves and for family.

The shop is fabulous, with so many things to look at and buy!
The cheeses that we tested were delicious, just a little on the expensive side!

Worth walking to the end of the street to this factory! Large variety of the yummiest cheese, honey and local jams and relishes, the best yoghurt and creams! Heaven!

We visited Central Tilba on holidays and wandered to the end of the street to find the ABC Cheese Factory. There was a small selection of cheeses on a plate for tasting, on the front counter. We asked about a flavour that wasn't on the tasting plate, and the staff happily got us some to try.

We purchased the cracked pepper, Tilba Brie and Firecracker. Wish we had purchased the BIGGER blocks. We shared the cheeses with our friends, and they vanished in record time!
