After visiting Amsterdam on the way back we stopped in the pittoresque town of Ouderkerk aan de Amstel. We found a series of restaurants alongside the river but most were crowded with waiting queues. Twist had a nice round table for 4 inside and we went for dinner there. We had a very pleasant waitress who served us very professionally and we were advised on the selection on the menu. The restaurant offers both Thai and Indian dishes and with a party of 4 we had some of both. The dishes were served on very hot plates and a large bowl of white rice. The selected dishes were both very nicely presented and also deliciously prepared. After finishing the main course we also had desert and this was also very nice. To summarize it: a delicious meal in a quiet but pleasant atmosphere. Lights could be a bit stronger inside but is was difficult to understand why there were not more visitors here.

Celebrating my birthday, my wife booked us a place in twist. We sat at the water front...

We started with a vegetarian platter, samosas, Indian cheese and more... an excellent start. We continued for main course, fish wrapped in banana leaf and I had paprika with cheese covered with a spicy sauce... licked my fingers

The kids had rice and chicken and were completely satisfied.

I must say it was a bit pricy but all and all good service and very tasty food

Thumbs up for me

We had diner here last night, a beautiful summer night on this nice located terrace near the water. Service was not that good, not very welcoming. Food was ok, very good rice, main dishes a bit a lack of spices, but taste was fresh. No water from the tap available, no starters from the house. Not a place Where we Will come back to

This was a lovely restaurant, it's location a major selling point as there are tables right by the canal.
The interior was also very pleasant.
We had cycled from Amsterdam centre and arrived early lunchtime. It was very quiet and the service was good.
All the food was good quality. We only had a light lunch with obligatory apple pie for dessert!
A mixed menu, mainly Asian but did have toasted sandwiches.

The service was slow indeed and they only have potatoes for kids. Most of the dishes (also rise) are with coriander, thus also not very tasty for kids. The have s kids chair. I was not told that the kebab is very spicy, so could not touch it. Usually, Asian kitchens have in their menu an indication of how spicy a dish is. In general, I think that this restaurant should invest in its interior design, a new menu and better service. We are not planning to come here again, although it is in the neighborhood.
