My wife and I stumbled upon chiantiandart quite by accident. When we arrived we were graciously met by Stefania while Rodolfo finished up in the vineyard teaching his son the finer points of motorcycle riding. We talked and walked the grounds and I could not believe the house with soaring tower and the art and frescos covered every wall and ceiling. The paintings and art all made by Rodolfo. Up the stairs we went to see the 360 degree view from the castle lookout. We then sat down to a wonderful lunch of melon and prosciutto , breads , olives , cheeses and varying wines. Then the pasta arrived cooked by the artist himself topped off with shavings of freshly unearthed truffles and some more wine. Best part of our five week visit to Italy was spending the afternoon with Stafania, Rodolfo Grandfather and two children. Felt like we were long lost relatives from America. Would not hesitate to go back again. See and stay at this place in Tuscany you will not be disappointed. Ciao! Joe & Julie O'Donnell

We had the pleasure of spending some time with Rodolfo and Stefania on their gorgeous grounds just outside of Florence. Their home is beyond words--contemporary art by Rodolfo mixed with frescos from the 1700's make for a truly unique environment. Vineyards and olive groves surround a fabulous tower with sweeping views of the countryside, yet the place is only about a thirty minute drive from Florence so it is perfect for travelers who wish to experience the tranquility of the country and might want day trips to the bustling city. Even in the midst of all of the perfection of the landscape and villa, delicious wine, and peaceful environment, the best part is that Rodolfo and Stefania are genuine people interested in giving visitors a special experience. I would return here again and again and highly recommend this place for anyone seeking a magical Italian vacation!

Visiting Stefania and Rodolfo was our favorite experience during our visit to Florence. Their home is truly spectacular - an amazing tower filled with art. They are wonderful, kind hosts who make you feel at home immediately and want their guests to have a unique, lovely Italian experience. The wine is wonderful - and the wine bottles (painted by Rodolfo) are exquisite. We will be talking and smiling about our day at this fantastic villa for years to come!

I was fortunate enough to be invited by Stefania and Rodolfo to their wonderful wonderful property in Greve in Chianati, which is very near Florence in the Tuscan hills.

Let me start by saying that Stefania and Rodolfo are the most cordial, warm and inviting people you could possibly hope to meet. They are genuine, interested (and interesting!) and very engaging as well! The family bond is obvious as is their passion for all that they undertake.

It is hard to adequately put into words the magnificence of the property. Incorporating a vineyard, an olive orchard, various styles and types of accommodation as well as room for private functions, it is set on a lovely, green hillside overlooking a valley. You immediately think you are on set being cast in a movie. It is absolutely beautiful!

I was so thrilled to be taken up to the tower also. It is so awe-inspiring as you climb the rustic spiral steel staircase that is several hundred years old, pop out through a ceiling trapdoor, then onto the lookout. My Lord! The 360 degree views from here are surely the stuff postcards are made of! It would be easy to spend hours just pondering here,,,but then you are called away for the wine tasting or the art classes (or both!), whichever you prefer.

Take a tour through the cellars, with Rodolfo explaining to you the process, Once again you can feel the passion of the man (try the vin Santo - my favourite!), while inside Stefania is cooking up a meal fit for a king. You will want to lengthen your stay.

Access by car from Florence is easy and it is only about 17-18 km away. Siena was about another 50 km away, so plenty to see and do within easy driving distance. The property is easy to find.

If you are considering a stay in Tuscany, want to absorb the true soul of the region and feel like a local, I could not recommend 'Chianti and Art' highly enough to you - La vita e bella!
