Garden Orchid Hotel is less than two minutes away from the Zambo airport and so it is in the outskirts of the city proper. The hotel staff are courteous and helpful; the rooms have good airconditioning and are clean; breakfast is also okay for a provincial hotel. I haven't been back to Zambo for 40years and I felt right at home at Garden Orchid. We found it convenient because it was a straightforward travel to Boalan, Zambowood, Pasonanca, the Sta Maria Market, the Barter Trade — some places we wanted to see without going thru the inside traffic. The hotel can also arrange for private transpo as they did for us to the far flung areas. But normally you can go around in a tricycle or jeepney, which pass directly in front of the hotel. The hotel provides the convenience of hotel & airport transfers too.

This hotel is located in front of the airport, 2mis away but around 20minutes from the town center. One of the biggest hotel, with very kind and accommodating staff, and a pool.. We happened to book a standard room which also fit us that's why we did not transfer to the newly renovated or built room because this room is very accessible to the pool. Room and beddings are clean. Will stay again here when i return to zamboanga city.

My husband and i checked in here last November 11-13. Receptionist are a bit SLOW in responding as if I am the first client of the day. Anyway, they gave me room 803 just dropped of our luggages and left right away and returned back to hotel late at night very eager to take a shower since we had a long day. just to find out the the shower in our room is not working properly trickle of water. Tried calling housekeeping and reception NO RESPOND. The next day informed reception and she said she will have it checked.
Arrived late again and nothing has changed. Even the toothpaste mark left on the sink was still there. I guess nobody checked. Standard of cleanliness is VERY LOW. Sad to say for the amount they are charging.

Room Tip: don't stay on the 8th floor water pressure is SOOOO BAD Very poor standard even you stay in the new wing.

Gardin Orchid Hotel is one of the better hotels (maybe the new Marcian Garden Hotel has something up their sleeves) for your trip to Zamboanga City. They have a (relatively) new wing with newer rooms (which are pretty standard, same as their hotel food). It's a stone's throw away from the airport but is awfully far from the downtown area where one can explore more of the city.

Hotel location is walking distance from the airport. Standard room has two doubled bed size with bath tub & Flat screen TV. Room design was pattern from a 5 star hotel set up although TV size is not as big as expected. Swimming pool & Gym are open from 8am to 8pm. I think it's more better if they can open from 530am for the early riser & close by 12midnight for those who will go back late.

Room Tip: Rooms in higher floors facing in the east has good view in the airport with a mountain backdrop.
