This hotel was a great place to stop for one night on our way to Florida. The room was basic but clean and quiet for a good night’s sleep. We easily walked to Ruby Tuesday’s for dinner and grabbed coffee and muffins in the morning for breakfast.
Front desk staff were friendly and welcoming.
I paid in total over $200 for this barely $20 motel because it was student move in week at Virginia Tech.
First, when I arrived there was no one at the desk to check me in, just a sign saying to wait. I called the hotel number and it rang until it hung up. 10-15 minutes later, a guy finally showed up. He was nice and got me squared away but made no mention of my wait.
The room was dingy with beat up paint and not even a cover over the fluorescent bulb above the sink. The sink barely drained. The beds were uncomfortable and rutted, suggesting their extreme age. 4 pillows stacked gave the neck support of one decent pillow.
Finally, walls, doors and ceilings were merely ornamental. Alarms, conversations and TVs from other rooms, as well as stomping around from above, were as loud as if in my own room.
This place stresses the econo part of econo lodge in every aspect but price.
We value your feedback and the time you've taken to share. It was a busy week with colleges students moving back in, when you had stayed here at the budget friendly Econo Lodge our staff wear many hats and had many guests inquiring for assistance with extra towels, toiletries, pillows, etc. as the hotel has been sold out or near sold out every night for two weeks. We are thrilled to know that our front desk was friendly and nice as our staff have excellent customer service skills and many guests definitely appreciate friendly desk clerks when checking into a hotel.
Guest feedback is our foremost catalyst for effective change, so rest assured that we will use yours to guide our efforts. We would be honored to have another chance to serve you and change your perceptions. We want you to know also that we have many plans for updates to the guests rooms in the future.
Our rates was much lower than our main competitors, it is our peak season so our rates are much higher during the fall from August through November, we hope that you will give us a second chance to provide you with a much better experience on your next stay when traveling or coming to the Blacksburg area if you are needing an affordable rate.
We want you to know also whether you are staying here with us or at a different location that you can always ask the front desk after checking in to switch rooms if you are unsatisfied with the room you was assigned to, as we care about our guests experiences and want our guest to fell appreciated and have a nice stay here at the budget friendly Econo Lodge and this is why we have won the 2021 and 2022 Gold Award from Choice Hotels.

I was trying to make reservations at this hotel, and had some details that weren't covered by online booking. I tried calling starting at 9:00 AM on 8/1/2022 and stopped trying at 2:00 PM. No one ever picked up the phone, no matter how long I let it ring. I gave up and booked with a competitor.
Next time you need to book a hotel reservation you can do so online at tripadvisor.com or call the reservations number.
We apologize that we was unable to get to your call but the hotel phone system may have been down during the time you had called or the hotel staff members may have been helping guests during the time you called.

I stayed here with my wife and kids on my way back to NY from FLA. Staff was really nice and the room was clean. Also it was only $58 for all 4 of us. It’s also very close to so many good restaurants. I was pleased with this hotel and would definitely stay here again.

Very friendly staff. Tidy well laid out room 211 with a king bed, sofa, TV, microwave, refrigerator, and coffee maker. Hot shower and large soft bath towels. Very little road noise at the back of the hotel. Some pastries, ceral, juice, and coffee for a quick breakfast bite.
