My favorite place to stay when visiting Virginia Tech!!! Thanks for the great room, friendly service and amenities. Loved getting a Starbucks and breakfast in the morning! I travel a lot and this is one of my favorites! Super friendly checkin and staff
This is the best hotel in Blacksburg. Not only is Tom great to deal with but everyone from check in to maid service is amazing. Everyone there is always willing to answer questions or help with anything we need. I continually pass on the Residence Inn and make sure I stay here because all of the experiences have been great. I highly recommend staying here when you’re in Blacksburg.
This is an older Marriott Courtyard, when you first walk into the hotel lobby if looks fresh and newly remodeled. However the rooms are a different story, the room we were in definitely needed to be redone. Furniture was beat up in areas, bathroom was the worst, broken ties, mold in the shower (see pictures). Marriott needs to update this property!

I am a Platinum level member and I stayed at this Marriott Courtyard in May 2023 for graduation and for all the 2023 Virginia Tech home football games.
The hotel is clean, the food is delicious and everything is always set up perfectly.
But- the true differentiator is the staff. They are the definition of 'exceptional customer service'. They are kind, asking if I need anything, always wishing me a great day and so helpful. Even better is that the general manager, Mr Norman, has a hands on approach to ensuring the hotel is consistently great (great leaders create great teams)
I don't ever consider staying anywhere else when I'm in Blacksburg since the customer service and other factors I need for a great stay are consistently great at this hotel.
Good visit last weekend in October. They had a football game on Thursday night but were kind enough to send us an email that there would not be early check-in on Friday, when we were to arrive. We got there about 2:30 PM, but they had our room ready. Great staff there. We stayed 2 nights and they did pick up our room after one night, that's becoming a rarity in the hotel business, very much appreciated. Husband left his prescription pills, housekeeping found them and they were so helpful to mail back to us. Thank you very much!!!
