There is an overwhelming air freshener smell. So powerful that you can taste it. My son’s eye were tearing. I had to sleep with a pillow case lightly draped on my face to filter the smell. We couldn’t change rooms because there was no one at the desk (we arrived after 3 a.m.) the room is really nice and spacious for me and my teenage sons.

This was our 8th stay at this Hilton property. We’ve had two daughters attend Virginia Tech and choose to stay at this Hilton property because my husband is a diamond member.

Today, we dropped off our rising junior at her apt and moved her in. After dinner, we went to the hotel to rest and relax.

I did not have to look far to see the absolute filth in the room. The tile floor in the room was disgustingly dirty and sticky. The dishwasher had a thickness of grime on it. There was hair on the bathroom floor. The mirror in the bathroom was smeared from someone trying to clean it. The bed linens were so wrinkled and unprofessional that we checked to see if the linens had been changed from the previous guest. We couldn’t tell.

As we sat down for the evening in the hotel room, my husband and I decided to just pack up and drive the 4 hours back home. I am sitting in the car typing this review. I will never stay at this disgusting hotel again. We’ve put up with lack of hot water on high floors in the past, seriously rude and high employees, and just an overall unprofessional vibe.

It’s unfortunate that the owner of the hotel doesn’t pay staff more to get qualified people to run his business. For a college town, it’s embarrassing for Hokies to have to stay in such a dumpy hotel.

I am writing to bring to your attention the persistent issues I have experienced during my stay at your hotel. This is my third consecutive week here, and despite being a paying customer, I find myself constantly struggling to receive basic service.

In the first week, I reported my concerns to the Sales Manager, who offered a half-hearted apology. However, over the past two weeks, there has been no improvement in service quality.

While the front desk staff have been consistently professional across all shifts, the overall service falls short. During my first week, the breakfast station ran out of hot food with an hour and a half left of service. Yesterday, there was no milk available.

I am unsure who the General Manager of this hotel is, but the current level of service is unacceptable. I hope this review reaches someone who can address and rectify these issues promptly.
