Always enjoy the snitzel and the bratwurst. My wife always likes the burgers and my daughter likes the Mac and cheese. All washed down with their Helles beer
A most elegant setting to have a light lunch on a day trip. The sandwiches were large and delicious. The french fries were hot and tasty. A beautiful view of the mountains to boot. A little pricey at 20 bucks a sandwich--------but good.
Had lunch here twice & the pastrami on rye was the best we ever had. The staff is VERY untrained & as a past hotel owner none of them would be working at my place.
The lodge is looking a little run down and not appealing for younger families. We didn't stay here, but rather stopped by to check out the property and have lunch. The modern brewery doesn't seem to go with the rest of the lodge and it seems to be monopolizing business. My husband and I stopped by for lunch on a Tuesday while the kids were at day camp at Smugglers' Notch and the restaurant was really dead. Only one server was working and we were disappointed by the lunch offerings. They were unable to accommodate us because I guess the chef doesn't arrive until dinner. We ended up sharing a burger having two beers and leaving. We'd dinned there with our 4 kids a few years back and had such great memories. We will probably not go back. The views are great, but we won't make the drive back out.
