Favorite hotel bed ever.

Rooms were very clean. Bed was super comfortable. Shower was hot. Owner is on site and interesting to talk to. Perfect for a skiing trip weekend or whatnot. The lake is not very visible from room, but it is a short drive away. Some road noise at night, but didn't bother either of us.

Most comfortable bed my whole trip. Floors and showers were clean. Host was kind. Place was peaceful and quiet. Working microwave and fridge was a plus. No problems with WiFi which is free. The grandparents stayed here on previous visit last autumn and were happy as well.

In October we visited New England and one stop was at the GTT Tibet Inn -- and it's been a nightmare ever since. They accused us of things that were not true and have been charging my credit card multiple times. My card company is gracious and I am not held liable -- but BEWARE if you stay here.

Normally I read reviews before making a reservation. This time I was desperate to find a hotel that was affordable and had a microwave and refrigerator. I could not afford to take myself, grandson and his girlfriend out to restaurants 3 times a day for four days, so we picked up some frozen entrees for that first night just to begin with. And popcorn for a snack that my grandson made while he watched television.

Later I was outside sitting on the steps when the manager/owner came out to talk to me. He said we could not cook in the microwave because guests would complain about the odor. I looked at him in shock. I asked if we could heat up frozen dinners in the microwave and he said, "No, only something light." ?????? We went back and forth for awhile and I became very upset. He said check out time was 11am and that he would give me a refund.

I didn't know what to do. I got on my cell trying to find another hotel that was reasonable, had a microwave and refrigerator and was close to family that I was visiting. No luck that night. The next morning I was sitting in the smoking section when here comes the owner/manager again. He says to me, "Check out time is 11am". He said I was unhappy and he was unhappy, so it was best I leave.

After more phone calls, I was finally able to get a room in a NICER hotel for almost the same rate. I've never left a bad review before, but this experience definitely warranted adding mine to the rest of the bad reviews I finally read. Beware, ALWAYS read the reviews before making a reservation!

Room tip: Ask what you are allowed to put in the microwave.

My dad and I stayed here for one night because around college move in time there wasn’t much to choose from for an affordable price. The woman at the front desk was friendly when we checked in. The rooms were definitely outdated but clean. The next morning my dad and I wanted to leave around 6:30am to go home and figured we see if there was coffee and/or breakfast. The door to the front desk/lobby was locked! We couldn’t believe it and there was no one around. But the side door was just a push door and completely unlocked. So unsafe. I can’t imagine if there was an emergency and we needed to go out the front door. We ran out the side door as fast as we could. Stay elsewhere!

Pleasantly surprised by how nice this place was, considering the low price. Owned by Tibetan couple who came to US on refuge resettlement program. Office walls covered with photos of owner with Dalai Lama. Nice vibe.

While it's a bit dated, we liked the place - and look forward to staying there again on future trips to Montreal. (Burlington's only an hour from Canadian / US border.)

A great find!
