My husband and I have BFA's. We've sat through hours of slide lectures and Donald Judd is a big part of those. We weren't sure we were going to enjoy this place, but the art has a lot more depth in person. Obviously, if you aren't into art or you hate minimalist art, this probably isn't for you. We were happy to find that there was so much more to it when we were interacting with the sculptures. I have a new understanding of Donald Judd's work.

I actually like modern art - or certain modern art - but I've never paid $50 for the two of us to take a guided tour even in NYC and the concrete cubes in the field frankly didn't do anything for me. The staff were pretentious and unwelcoming.

This is one of the institutions that defines Marfa and must be on everyone's bucket list when in town. The guides are kind and helpful, and the installations are fun for everyone, even those who aren't die-hard art fans.

Although we didn't really know what to expect, the two buildings on site with the 100 Judd pieces was great, and the two buildings off-site were great - not big on the neon installations

Donald Judd's work here is absolutely beautiful, and it is truly enhanced by the work the Chinati Foundation does to preserve and maintain the art. They also have pieces by other artists and are indescribable with words. This place is a must-see/do in Marfa.
