Owner description: Includes the grave of Howard Hughes
Reviewed 20 June 2018

this cemetery is peaceful, gorgeous, and surprisingly hilly for Houston which is entirely flat. there're famous people here like Howard Hughes , whose grave is very simple. Another section which contains the Menil family members has beautiful statuary. There is also a secret waterfall to the back left which is where cremated remains are interred in a red brick wall.

This is a beautiful, well-kept cemetery. It is a great place to take a walk or ride a bike. It is so peaceful and a perfect place to reflect. If you enjoy history, you will find notable Houston residents that go back to the 1800's. You will fill like you left Houston and entered a different world when you go through the gates. I highly recommend it!

Such a beautiful cemetary with many, many old graves and beautiful grave markers. Especially, look at the large angels that mark the graves of children. Sad and beautiful. In the back, there is a large oak tree that is awesome.

Staff is friendly; stop in at the office for some directions to historical graves. But don't overlook the non-famous sites. So many interesting markers and rememberances, some quite old, and the landscaping is marvelous. If you're not superstitious, this is a great place to sit under a tree and eat your lunch! Great slice of Houston history.

I love visiting this cemetery with its rich Houston history, rolling hills and picturesque statutes/monuments.
