We received excellent service and food. The server brought us water quickly and returned to help us select a beer. After her descriptions we asked for two samples, one we thought I would like and one we thought my date would like. Worked out just as expected. We ordered a pretzel with beer cheese sauce. It was delicious and a great accompaniment to our beers. We ordered schnitzels, one Jaeger and one Rohm. They were both excellent. We slightly preferred the Rohm, but would happily order either in the future. We loved the braised cabbage that came with them.

It was a beautiful evening to sit outside. We had pleasant, helpful and attentive service. Neither of us could remember when we enjoyed an evening at a restaurant more than this evening.

We are looking forward to coming back for future meals and also to visit the beer garden.

This was an absolute disaster of a meal and experience. We arrived at about 10:30 - 10:35 and were advised it would be 30 - 35 minutes for a table. We decided to stay as other places we checked were also busy. The first clue of a problem was the number of tables without food, and during the 30 plus minute wait, very few meals were delivered. At just after 11:00 we got our table. We were ready to order right away but it took 5-10 minutes for a waitperson. She came buy and took our orders, without writing them down. Another mistake. We waited 50 minutes for our breakfast. Nothing special but both were wrong. One ordered an omelet without onions and it came with almost a quarter cup of onions in it. It was supposed to have gouda cheese in it and if it did there was not enough to tell it had any cheese in it. The other ordered two eggs scrambled and sausage, but got bacon. We asked for strawberry jelly but it didn't come until we were completely finished with our meal. (The waitress had some lame comment, there was a line.....wow.) We ordered a kolache and asked if it could come out early. It came with the complete meal and looked like it was overcooked days ago. The bread and sausage were real dry. Shipley's are much better. Her comment was the kitchen was busy. It was clearly not freshly made, and looked and tasted if it was days old. (It may or may not have been but that is the taste, texture and flavor of the overdone kolache)The food was very unremarkable and no place is worth a wait that long for even a great breakfast. Do not dine here if you want good food and service. Needless to say, never again for us an we would recommend anyone who wants good service and food go elsewhere.

While in the area, we chose this restaurant because I had seen their burger listed on the best 50 in Texas. My husband had the burger, and it was average. I had Clam Chowder, and it was average. It seems more of a place you go for the ambience, not good hamburgers. I had a glass of wine that tasted to come from a bottle that had been opened too long. Maybe we just hit it on an off night, but I found it to be average.

We’ve lived in Boerne for years & never been, so yesterday we went for lunch. So disappointing. I ordered the Caesar salad, with homemade croutons, according to the menu. When it arrived without croutons & I asked for them the server said that they keep burning them, so they don’t have them anymore, & that’s why he suggested the spinach salad when I ordered. Really? Why didn’t he just tell me it wouldn’t include one of the main ingredients? The Caesar dressing tasted like mayonnaise. No flavor whatsoever. My husband had the French dip & fries which was all just mediocre. For this we paid $35. What a let down. Never again.

We are so sorry it took you so long to come try our family owned and operated restaurant and when you finally did you had such a horrible experience. We can assure you that was not intended and will address this situation at once. Our Caesar Salad is homemade with a secret Caesar dressing passed down from generations. Our croutons are made from our homemade Czech Rye bread and stored to the perfect crispness for salads. HOWEVER over the past 6-8 months, everyone has been going gluten free and always requesting for our croutons to be left off the plates and this causes our croutons to go stale and we toss them on a regular basis. Unfortunately you came in on one of those days we just were simply out and it wasn't due to our kitchen staff "burning" them. We have since asked all staff to explain that we are no longer going to be adding croutons to our Caesar Salads and will remove them from our menu. We honestly sincerely apologize for this miscommunication and most definitely have addressed it with our entire wait staff immediately. The French Dip is one of our most popular sandwiches and we are very sorry you thought it was just mediocre. We hope you can see past this and can make it over to our establishment again and understand mistakes happen and we did not mean to upset you so much. These trying times have been very difficult on us all and we are so blessed to still be in business after such a rough year. Have a beautiful day and remember to dine local when possible. Our family counts on all of you.

The service was amazing, the food was even better! Even the wait for a table was pleasant, we gave our number and walked the creek for a few minutes. The restaurant itself is decorated in an appealing mix of traditional items and vibrant colors, we loved it! Cant wait to return!
