I ordered a sweet and sour crispy chicken but what I did not order was sweet and sour crispy chicken with vegetables and half a liter of watered down sauce it was so bad I threw up because the chicken was rubbery and the amount of water or what ever they want to call that crap but it was not sweet and sour sauce I do not recommend this place to anyone

Has been the regular local takeout for past three years. It has been very consistent over that time, even during lockdown. Most dishes are average to what you might expect in your local. It might cater to local tastes however it usually attracts large numbers of Chinese tourists in a regular year. It does a decent job on all the standards but is worth noting its fried rice is better than your average suburban chinese restaurant.

On what should have been a busy Friday night, this restaurant was almost empty. Plastic tablecloths are off putting, as is the lack of chopsticks on the set table. We had to ask for these as they were not offered. The prawns and vegetables in garlic sauce were disappointing as they had large granulated garlic pieces throughout the dish. Our Cantonese fillet steak was terrible - we knew we were in trouble when it was served - bright pink, scattered with half cooked onion pieces and frozen peas. There were only two tables booked - a family and us. The rest of San Remo was pumping. We noticed the restaurant is for sale - lets hope it sells quickly and someone who knows how to cook good Cantonese food takes over.

We ordered takeout, Honey Chicken (more like Battered Bullets) and Beef in Blackbean with fried rice. What a disappointment. We were starving after a day swimming but ended up throwing out the Honey Chicken which I can only describe as something left over after a nuclear disaster. The beef was not much better. Never tasted blackbean like this, watery, vinegary slop with a few bits of onion, the beef was passable. We ate the rice.

We visit this place often. The 4 course banquet is great offering a selection. It’s great value. Soup, Entree, main & desert. It’s a byo place with good service, friendly owner and staff located in the Main Street of San Remo. Parking is not a problem. Stop off at this place on your way to watch the penguins at the Penguin Parade on Phillip Island all year round. Ring early for a table or to place your takeaway order. Enjoy.
