My Aussie family bought me here after a 2 year absence from Australia. The food was average, it had a live singer so was a nice atmosphere. Good selection of draught beer available too. Prices slightly expensive but in line with mount Dandenong tourist prices I guess.

Despite 32degrees heat for the day, the wise and experienced leader of our group of 22 walkers guided us to complete 11km walk in the shade majority of the time!

What better finish than having lunch at the Micawber Tavern where we park our car for the walk!

The pub has a bar. It serves pub meals. The place is cosy with both inside and outside table settings.

My sister and niece raved about this place so we went there for a birthday lunch and the restaurant was just right. We went for lunch on a Wednesday during the Xmas period. There were a few tables celebrating work lunches but that didn't impact the excellent service. I thought the meals were well priced for the quality. We settled for steaks and parms and weren't disappointed. Steaks were a reasonable size and well cooked. The parmas were huge, almost impossible to eat the whole lot but we persevered ! We will definitely go there again for a family birthday or special celebration.

A bit too pricey generally, but a great vibe inside with lots of locals supporting a Tavern that has been there for a long time. It's very much like a pub you would find in the UK.

We went here on a recent Saturday night - arrived at 7.30 - it took around 30 minutes to order as there was quite a line up. Then it was another hour before our food arrived and it was not the best when it arrived (risotto under cooked and other food generally average). BUT the pub had a nice atmosphere and staff were very good. Plus they had a live band that was fantastic. We had a good night but the wait for our food did put us off a bit. And there were others in the same situation - starving! Not sure if we caught them being short staffed? The wait was way too long but the band was great!
