A group of us came down from North Wales to stay at The Level Crossing for a cycling/walking weekend. Upon arrival we had a warm and cheery Welsh welcome from Sally who was a perfect host for the weekend, she could not do enough for our group.
We found everywhere spotlessly clean and comfortable and along with her Mum she cooked a hearty Welsh breakfast which made for an excellent value stay.
Some of us walked in the local hills for two whole days while the rest of the group cycled on quiet country lanes. The town of Llandovery has many pubs and good eating places which made us feel very welcome and the locals were friendly as we mixed among them watching Australia beat Wales in the rugby match(ugh). Even so we all drowned our sorrows happily!!
The Level Crossing is well worth another visit which hopefully will be fulfilled next year.

Room Tip: Dormitories placed at front of hostel for ease of access

A warm friendly welcome from Sally & her team await you at the Level Crossing. We are a group of Sixteen bikers, most in our 40's & we had a great time at this Bunk House. We travel around Wales a lot & we have stayed in a lot of places, this was possibly the best value as of yet & we'll be BACK!

I personally had a double room which was spacious, clean & comfy with a good warm shower & ensuite toilet, the other members of our group stayed in the shared bunk rooms. There was no complaints the next morning over a hearty full (Welsh) English breakfast & everyone enjoyed the service & hospitality.

Lots of parking for bikes & it was not problem to use next doors garage's space either.

It's not a 5 star hotel & it'll never please everyone but it's clean, friendly & offers a bar, Wifi and evening meals, an excellent choice for staying in Llandovery, which itself has enough pubs to entertain you & we made the most of the Indian restaurant in town too.

One thing I would like for next time is some signs on the doors reminding guests to close the bedroom doors quietly behind them in the morning!

Can't wait to go back next year.

Thanks from Dave, Deb, Tig & all the other bikers

Room Tip: Go Double in the roof!

Great to stay in a clean, bright, comfy and welcoming place run by local people who know the area and are supporting the town. My mum and I stayed in a twin ensuite room and it had everything we needed, plus some reading matter on the area. Really enjoyed a splendid overnight stay, many thanks.

Room Tip: Top floor twin ensuite no problem for our slight mobility limitations, but check by phone before booking if you have any such limitations.

Very helpful in local attractions, where to eat out, and what to see. Sally is an amazing person, always ready to help in any way. She went above and beyond for us. Very central in southern Wales for the national parks (Brecon Beacons, Elan Valley). Castles and churches.

We had an amazing welcome from Sally who made us feel so at home. We only stayed one night but have no hesitation to recommend it, especially if you are sightseeing, it is an excellent base. Our meals were excellent and v reasonably priced.
