Stopped off here for an evening meal with the family and could not fault the place at all.
Very friendly and accommodating welcome and a first class menu with plenty of choice for everyone - not often I could have easily selected 90% of the main meal options!
The food itself was very tasty and great value and as for the sweets on offer - "wow" is how I think the family described them.
All in all, great value for excellent food - well worth a visit if you are in the area

Tain has a number of hotels of very different character from each other. "The Saint" is not the place where the blue-rinsed retired women of Tain go to have afternoon tea. It's a completely unpretentious, very long-established, inn.
My visit -- the first for a number of years -- was for a middle-of-the day function. The staff were truly excellent -- very attentive without being obtrusive. The dining room, while it opens on to the forecourt of the hotel, is delightfully bathed in sunlight -- unusual in Tain, which faces North.
The food, overall, was adequate, with the soup deserving very special mention as outstanding.
Not only is the hotel near the centre of town and very easy to find, it also has a car park which is very large in relation to the size of the hotel.
Overall, a very pleasant visit, with special commendation for the excellent and spacious parking facilities and, even more important, for the quality of the service provided by the staff.

Booked in here on our recent trip to the highlands. The room was very spacious and the staff were friendly. The rooms are not en suite so had to use a shared bathroom. It was £70 for B&B and we were offered a variety of things to eat in the morning. It is round the corner from the main street so everything is easily accessible.

Just called for lunch, not really expecting much, but was given a very warm welcome, wide choice of seating in the comfortable dining room. Sufficiently wide menu choice to make it interesting. Quick service, well presented meals which tasted as good as they looked. Plenty of parking space. Will visit again.

Had a few drinks in here on a Saturday night. An unremarkable place.
Reasonable selection of drinks, average service and an ok atmosphere.
Think the place may be livelier on Friday nights... but was a bit quiet for a Saturday night.
