Have been to the Berry Head on a number of occasions and have had varying success with the meals, mainly good but a couple of momentary lapses on the service front. This time though, three days ago, we had a good meal. All three of us were suitably impressed from service through to the standard of food. Portion sizes are large especially the seafood platter for one. Great views as usual and a pleasant all round atmosphere.

Stopped at The Berry Head 3 over the passed couple of years. You can enjoy mixing in the bar on special nights with music. The food has always been great with the staff always helpful. It was early September, and the Hotel helped my mom by catering for her limited mobility, and made the stay extremely relaxing. We ate in the restaurant, breakfast and evening meal we could not wish for better, also enjoyed food in the bistro, service and food great, the added benefit was to be able to have coffee out on the terrace and soak up the tremendous view this hotel has to offer

A nice day out wandering around Brixham in the autumn weather. Walked up to the Berry Head hotel, for a spot of lunch. Chose "Fritto Mitto" (assorted sea food, Squid rings, whitebait, battered fish goujons, chips, peas, etc) and was really pleased at the plate of food presented. it was enormous ! superbly cooked, piping hot and delicious. Not cheap, but not overly expensive either, with a couple of pints of Tribute to wash it down for three of us it worked out at just about £20 a head. and all in the comfort of the hotel bar/dining with superb views around. Staff found to be very polite and helpful, Will definitely put this place on my list of ones to come back to. Well done Berry Head Hotel.

We'd heard several good reviews for this hotel from locals. So we dragged friends across from Tavistock to eat here. We booked a table for 4 for the Sunday carvery.
Arrived at the hotel - my first visit. Breathtaking location with the most spectacular views. Difficult to find parking but it was a Sunday and sunny.
As soon as you enter the hotel you notice the dated decor and the deeper we went we saw people carrying small over loaded carvery plates. First impressions for all four of us is that the food looked sad and grey; it didn't look appetising.
We arrived in a huge dining hall that looked like a giant canteen. There was no music ir ambiance it was just noisy and like I say like feeding time in a staff canteen. All hustle bustle rather than pleasant experience.
There was a huge queue for the carvery and even though the food was regularly replenished it looked over cooked.
None of us wanted to eat there. We asked the waiter if there was anywhere else in the hotel to eat - they said no. However, we discovered the bar also served food and managed to get a table outside. Busy so had to queue to order from the bar. Had scallops and pea puree - scallops overcooked and puree a little bitter. Main was pasta served with crab; it was overly sauced and creamy killing the gentle taste of crab. Pasta over cooked and the dish was cold. Very difficult to get anyone's attention to complain as staff busy. Could have returned to the bar but that would have meant queuing again and leaving friends for ages. One friend doesn't like dessert and prefers cheese. Asked waiter if cheese was available- they were only offering what was available with the carvery! However when we rooted around ourselves for a menu we found cheese was available. But we didn't want to queue again so went to M&S to buy dessert and ate it at home. Young staff serving on terrace at the hotel really happy, friendly and helpful.
