Tried to book this restaurant whilst here in Guernsey they could not confirm a booking even the night before! Said they did not know if hotel guests would want meals! Would have thought they would know by then. Their loss not ours - unhelpful so suggest don’t bother unless you are staying there.

Lovely restaurant with friendly helpful staff. Able to modify much of the menu to suit my wife’s gluten free needs. Delicious food.

Restaurant seemed to be more casual/gastropub and less formal than a previous visit. Fab Wheadons G&Ts before our meal, would highly recommend. Menu was varied, our meals were delicious and the cold seafood plate was very generous, i was glad i hadn't ordered a starter. Good choice of wines by the glass. Service was friendly if a little disorganised but they were very busy!

We stayed here for 4 nights. When we booked there wasn’t much left on Guernsey but the hotel photos looked lovely on the website so we thought we’d book.
We arrived late and Luke the General Manager was waiting for us to check us in and show us to our rooms. There was 5 of us so we’d booked the 3 loft rooms. It was a lot of money but it looked worth it.
The rooms were spacious and light with good bathrooms although the shower curtain kept falling off in one of the rooms. The ceiling track was too wide for the curtain to stay in.
The breakfast was 7/10. Nice choice of fresh fruit salad and pastries. You could then order from the cooked menu. Mostly that was ok but the bacon was always over cooked and some other things like the mushrooms were crispy, like they’d been sat under lamps keeping warm.
Like many places on Guernsey at the moment I think they are understaffed. For 3 mornings out if 4 there was just 1 girl serving and whilst she was very polite and smiley, at busy times things took longer than they should have. Also, the fresh food needs covering because it’s not great to see flies walking around in the food you’re about to eat.
This hotel has previously been classified as luxury I think but not anymore. I think it’s got potential to get back to those days because the building looks nice but it needs some money spent on it. The pool area is a particular let down. We didn’t go in and saw no one in it during our stay. It looked very uninviting, needs a repaint and the paving around it has seen better days.

Lovely unrushed Sunday lunch in nice surroundings. Generous portions, beautifully cooked pork and plenty of delicious veg. Not an overcooked green bean in sight. We look forward to a return visit.
