I really liked this hotel. It was properly clean (rare these days) and the staff were lovely. The tea tray in the room was really good. I was impressed by the hot chocolate, and there were plenty of biscuits, which was good because I arrived late and hadn't eaten for a very long time, but had to get up early, so just munched some biscuits before going to bed. The breakfast was really tasty. There was a buffet, but also table service. All the hot stuff was cooked to order. It was so lovely. The staff were really helpful, it was hovering around 0C when I was there and I asked for a heater for my room and the staff brought it up and it soon made the room toasty.

There was one downside though, the bathroom obviously hadn't been updated since the 1980s when Bergerac was in town, but that it was clean. My greatest concern though was that it was like a walk-in freezer. It was like having a bathroom without walls it was that cold. The radiator in there was on full blast, but had absolutely no effect. My colleague said his bathroom was a normal temperature, so my advice is to just avoid room 119 in the winter. It obviously has no insulation.

Room tip: Don't book room 119 it has the freezing bathroom.

Thank you for your custom and top marks given on cleanliness, service and location.

Unfortunately your late arrival reduced our opportunity to inspect and rectify the issue for you. Our in-house electrical engineer has since inspected the bathroom towel rail and has noted that this unit had been switched-off at the fuse, set directly below the thermostatic on/off switch. The bedroom occupied is newly refurbished and the bathroom was re-wired in very recent years as well as having updated fixtures and fittings, including a new thermostatic shower, all in good condition as kindly noted. We are a traditional hotel in style.

Thank you once again for your comment and feedback.

We held our Wedding Evening here in the function room downstairs for 120 people and it was perfect! Mariusz (the hotel manager) and the hotel team were very accommodating, friendly and nothing was too much trouble for them. The chef had some great ideas for our festival theme and our guests loved the food! Rooms and breakfast spread fantastic. One of the best hotels in Jersey for hosting large events. Thank you

Friendly, helpful staff, who sorted out a couple of problems for us. Tasty breakfast with a good choice of food - mum loved the full English and I loved the mueslis, and the kippers were perfectly cooked. Comfortable room (we were on the third floor) with windows that actually opened (!) , lovely soft towels and very comfortable beds. I’m arthritic and I slept like a log!

Room tip: Ask for what you want!

Thank you for your kind comments in respect of our town centre hotel.

A great many customers do comment on the fact it is welcome that our windows in bedrooms open and this does allow good ventilation.

It is wonderful that you slept well at the Royal. Thank you once again.

Had a list of places to visit, places we had never explorered before. Bit stuck for choice. Anyway one might watched a film, another mother's son. Won't tell you about, don't won't to spoil it for you.( But it's a must watch film).
Watching the film we decided to go to Jersey, do we did.
The hotel we decided on was the best western, good location, car parking, restaurant, bar and it looked ok. Well it was better than ok, nice clean hotel, the staff were faultless, polite and friendly.
I had made some requests before we got there, and they were in place.( Remember, this is a wedding anniversary, champagne needs to be in ice) the breakfast was very good, prepared well and tasted good and kept us full all day.
We ate in the bar every night, we had a different meal every night. Don't bother eating else where, the food was delicious. The bar staff were like old friends with us! Nothing was an effort or a problem. The bar manager Mihai Rusu was always there to help or chat.
The hotel staff made our 3rd anniversary more special than you can imagine. Hope to see you all again, many thanks.
Ps, thank you so much for the champagne and card.very much appreciated.
Till next time, cheers.

The Royal is a very well-organised and welcoming hotel. Our room was spacious and clean but it was a bit noisy because there is no double glazing and the windows rattled alarmingly when the traffic built up outside in the mornings. On the day we left a French couple were suggesting to the receptionist that the hotel should provide wedges for the windows as they came from a very quiet area and were jolted away every morning by the noise.
The breakfasts were good and the staff friendly and obliging - although on one morning we were not offered the choice of brown or white toast and were not asked if we wanted anything from the kitchen (scrambled eggs, kippers, porridge etc. - everything else one could want was available on the buffet). I put this down to the waitress having an off day, and it was the only time we could fault the staff in any way!
There is no lift to the bedrooms, so dragging suitcases upstairs might prove a problem for the less able, but having said all that, I would recommend this hotel to anyone wanting to be in the centre of things in Jersey.
