It really is a Southern Social at Southern Social. Great bar and incredibly friendly staff makes for a fun and enjoyable dining experience. It's busy, so make a reservation, even days early, but magically they seem to find a place for the drop-in dinner.
I have been 3 or 4 times with my wife and business clients. Never disappointed. Mr. Joe the ever attentive maître d' and his staff will serve your ever need.
The Restaurant sits beside the RR tracks a stones throw from the Commissary in old downtown Germantown with limited parking, though the free parking attendants will rapidly whisk your car off. The large patio has gas heaters for these early spring days and late fall months; I expect the summer is warm but there is adequate shade. Trains do rumble by on this active rail line.
Food is a modern twist on typical southern cuisine from fried chicken, best you ever ate, to properly prepared sea foods, beef, pork and lamb. One item, top of the appetizer page, is deviled eggs with a fried oyster topped with a diced sweet bacon crumple. OMG order it! Southern Social, created by the folks at Flights, is my new favorite in Memphis.
A fun, class, dinning experience that is sure to please.
