“Had to Stop!”

South of the Border
Ranked #2 of 7 things to do in Dillon

Okay, we broke down and stopped! Heading up from the south, saw all the billboards and knew we just had to stop. Quirky best describes the whole thing! But hey, clean bathrooms and picked up a couple of worthless trinkets for the grand kids! Next time thru, we will blow right by!

Can't believe I have to leave one star just to put the review in. Believe me it should have negative Stars. Hadn't Eaton in a long time decided to stop and maybe get a quick hot dog. Whole place felt like I was in the middle of a slum with workers who couldn't have given a damn about doing anything I actually paid and walked out of this place without getting anything as I waited freaking forever for a simple order. Don't waste your time your patience or anything else here this is like one big slum of disgusting people working in disgusting places.

It's really just a barely updated tourist trap with gimmicks galore. It's fun to walk around now and again, but not a regular stop for our tastes. On a positive note, we've stopped at the campground in the past for a night as a resting stop before continuing our trip. The campground was nice and we'd gladly stop in for a night, but certainly not to extend our stay for the rest of the attached endeavours.

Very much the same as I remembered from childhood. Several gift shops, massive selection of fireworks, & a couple of eateries. Several photo opportunities if you desire. There’s really not much to this place. Definitely a tourist trap. That being said if you’ve never been you should go at least once. It’s certainly unique.

We stopped for a couple hours to walk around while traveling south. It is mostly shops with "tourist stuff" but there is a reptile exhibit that although a little pricy for the size was fun to stop and see. It was a good way to get out of the car for a little while.
