This is one of my budget hotel reviews:

I would say this is a place to get a room if you are just looking for a place to crash for the night after a long day of being out in the Grand Canyon. Check-in for the hotel is inside the bar by the owner/bartender/cook. The outside itself is in decent shape, but the inside is dated. The paint on the ceiling was cracked in places, but the paint was within the last year. The room was pretty clean, but smelled of cleaning solution and was pretty humid inside for the first night til we burned it off with the heater. Got a "King Size" Bed, 2 twins pushed together with sheets over them, but it worked. Lastly, some people love wifi and having technology at their fingertips, but the wifi advertised is very weak and gives very little connective strength unless you are at the bar. Little service for phone calls also, but that's why they have landlines. When im away I like to be away, so this didn't bother me.

Im not saying this is a bad place to stay because I would stay here again if I was biking, hiking, or fishing in the State Forests, but I would be selective on the people I bring along. I definitely know people who would not be happy staying here.

So if you're looking for a simple room to just to sleep in with a dive bar attached to the other side of the hotel then this is the place for you. Be sure to take some friends into the bar with you during the off-season and enjoy a drink because the patrons that night reminded me of deliverance.

What a beautiful sight. We didn't go to the visitor center side. We didn't know they had that side not enough signs from the direction we came. When we got to the pull off to look over we realized it was the spot when we seen a bunch of people stopping and taking pictures. Was not a big sign to tell you that you were at the grand canyon. We have now seen both grand canyons in the world and they were both quite different but beautiful in there own way. Glad we made the trip to see it.

Enjoyed this place immensely. Had the indoor pool to ourselves. It was a bit hot but very enjoyable. There was a sauna but we did not use it. Our room was quiet and large. Everything was clean and the staff were very friendly.

The Leonard Harrison park is very nicely developed and maintained. It provides a terrific overview of the canyon, complete with parking, bathrooms, and multiple levels with benches, for the faint of heart. Great photo ops, after your perceptions catch up with you. First look is dizzying! Pet friendly. Great place to linger.

Stay anywhere else, ANYWHERE! This place was dirty and old. The heat was not working in October, the blanket was covered with animal hair. They would not come over and get the heat started. We also could not stay there another night due to the filth and they refused to refund our money, thank goodness I put it on a credit card and could resolve the dispute through the credit company as the old man refused to refund our credit card. He first denied being the owner, then when we found out he was the owner he became belligerent. It ended in swearing at each other and we left to resolve it through the card company.
