Make sure to take a hammer. You will be climbing on large boulders so wear appropriate shoes. The hike is an easy walk through a forest passing a creek with a very picturesque water fall. Great fun.

This place is spectacular! Imagine a giant field of giant stones that looks as though it could be the result of giant giants playing marbles. It's awesome in it's breadth, spectacular in the history of it's creation, and literally musical, as the rocks do ring when hit by something like a hammer. This is an amazing experience for anyone of any age. You have to be able to climb to get the most out of this adventure. This is a "must do," "must see," "on the bucket list" adventure, especially for kids. It's a great field trip for school groups.

Such a great day trip from the Western suburbs of Philly! About an hour's drive for us, and when you park at the campgrounds it is only about a 100 yard walk to the rocks. You can just stop there, or you could cross the field of rocks to the other side of the "loop trail" and follow it to see the waterfalls and creek. The whole experience (with two nine year olds) took about 2 hours, taking our time and enjoying the rocks. Definitely bring a hammer for each member of the family!

The park itself is beautifully treed with small waterfalls and cascades. the boulders really ring when hit just right. Exploring was fun! The energy was soothing and relaxing you could say that of the entire park.

Bring a hammer (or two) as the ringing is when they are hit with a hard object, hammers work best. DO NOT CHIP OFF CHUNKS OF ANY ROCK PLEASE!. It is an interesting effect to hear the rocks actually ring. The kids love it! Wear good rubber sole hiking boots or running shoes so you don't slip while climbing over the field of big and small boulders.
