“Absolutely incredible.”

Linn Run State Park
Ranked #1 of 2 things to do in Rector

The park is beautiful, but the people running it are incredible too. While staying at Linn Run we learned our apartment had been destroyed. The park manager and park ranger, as well as maintenance helped us extend our stay and made sure we were comfortable, warm and safe. I can not recommend this park enough. The cabins are gorgeous, the woods are enchanting. Spend as much time here as possible, hopefully under better circumstances than I did.

Set up was fantastic with easy access to the trails, water, and nature. Bonus: during the summer you can run down to the Ligonier Farmers' Market to get everything you need for the weekend. Can't recommend staying in Cabin No. 9 enough.

My friends enjoyed their first visit to Linn Run. The trails were just long enough. Even though Adams Falls had but a trickle, it made for a pleasant walk.

Took the little one to the creek, she looked for rocks and bugs and had the best time. It was a bit chilly when we went, but still had a lovely walk in the woods. There are shorter trails perfect for little kids.

We discovered this little gem completely by accident. Idlewild Park closed early one day and we didn't know until we arrived so we drove and came across this beautiful park. We have been coming up several times each spring/summer. There is a spring there so we make sure to fill our water bottles up. The water is ice cold and crystal clear. There are many areas to cookout and have picnics. There are cabins to rent for a week or a weekend. But we come here for Flat Rock. It is a short walk through the woods to the shallow river. There you will find a natural water slide. It is so much fun. An underground spring feeds into it so it is VERY cold but feels great on a hot summer day. The rocks can be slippery so bring water shoes to help keep from slipping and sliding. We also bring an inner tube to go on the slide.
