Well-renovated building with well-appointed rooms (incl ensuite) in nice grounds.
Also, they offer a special personal tour of the building and outline of its history.
A good location away from the main street, in a street with other buildings that are part of Ballina's heritage, but easy to get to shops if needed.

W e were there on the 24th of January for our 47th year of marriage and with over 36 years of running motels and bed &breakfasts, this hotel is as good as we have come across the service, the food is of very standard. It is in a very quiet location and the bonus you will meet Grace she is in the top 1percent of wait staff. We will be back

Room Tip: any room will be ok

Was denied check in because we've got an infant with us. When making booking I've added note that we'll be taking an infant with us. Upon arrival we were denied due to their fire regulation on number of people allowed. I tried my best to accept the situation that we've been put in as we were stuck with no where else to go for the night with a little baby girl. I accepted that fact that I would stay in the car myself overnight, then I got told to provide my registration number, so that their security can check up on me and if I'm not in the car then they'd call the police. That kind of threat clearly crossed my line and I decided not to stay there and continued our road to find the next place to stay carrying a baby. The staff was rude and unprofessional. I was being almost too kind to accept that I'd make myself in the car so that my wife and our little baby would have a place to stay for the night. I was also told there can be no more than 2 people in the room at once, or else police would be called. That's probably the worst rule I've ever heard of out of anywhere in the world I've stayed. I can understand about the part if their place is unmanned at night and have fire regulation requirement at night, but hotel have visitors all the time and they're telling me their hotel don’t allow people staying to have visitors to step inside the hotel? I told them I'm not going to checkin and will seek for cancellation with refund as I clearly stated the requirement during the booking. Again, they said they won't do refund and if I walk out and decide not to checkin, I'll be forfeiting my reservation and payment already made. I don't understand which part of when I said I'll seek refund of where I booked through do they not understand. Thanks to Expedia, they've given me a refund. If not, I'd take my case with my credit card company and also lodge with the ACCC.

Room Tip: Avoid. I tired to stay based on others comment so risk it if you want.

We were thrilled to find this place on the internet. Tracy gave us a warm greeting when we arrived and took us to our room which was on the first floor. A great sized room, lovely bathroom, soft towels, comfortable bed and pillows so we had a good nights sleep. We chose to have a continental breakfast which Tracy served us at the table from a selection available on the menu. Very nice breakfast indeed. We were sorry we had to cut our tour of the premises short, as the place has an amazing history, but we needed to get to Byron Bay, This is a perfect find, especially if you want somewhere extra special to stay.

Ballina Manor was wonderful in so many ways. Megan and Tracey were very friendly hosts, they made us feel so comfortable and very welcome. Tracey took us on a tour of the manor and every room was decorated differently. It was very interesting learning about all the history of the place. The food at the restaurant was excellent and we had our scrumptous breakfast served in our room which we ate on the balcony. Our room was lovely and had everything we needed and a very comfortable bed. Would highly recommend to anyone wanting something special. Very well located. We have stayed in many hotels but this one ticked all the boxes. We will surely be back next time we are in Ballina

Room Tip: After viewing all rooms they are all lovely
