The staff was helpful and kind. We will repeat next year. Well located near the beaches. Familiar ambiance. It was great to have a Tesco just next to the hotel. We didn't have any issues with the car park. We extended the stay for one night more. I wish we could do it at the hotel, not online. I recommend the hotel anyway!

On arrival there was only one member of staff who took over 15 minutes to acknowledge we were there. The hotel was dirty inside and outside, all security doors were jammed open and the hotel was hot and stuffy. The extra bed in the family room for our child was dangerous and tipped over on our daughter whilst she was laying in it. The staff were very negative, the assistant manager stated he thought it was ‘naff’ that there were no bath mats and told us it was because they were waiting to have a refit, the manager Tracey was very rude and wouldn’t give us details on how to make a complaint. The TV in the room was broken and had cracks/lines down the screen, the hotel had no air-con so the rooms were extremely hot, we found most guests had their doors open to let a draught through, we also had to put up with the smell of cigarette smoke as some guests were smoking inside the hotel.

Nice clean hotel, friendly, helpful staff especially Abdul who was very informative about the area. Just a bit annoying that we was above a tesco and it was really noisy early mornings with deliveries and chatting really loudly waking us up very early.

We stayed at the Travelodge in St Austell for 3 nights with our 4yr old grandson, the room was lovely and clean and the staff were really friendly. The breakfast is amazing value with a huge choice from the buffet. I think there is something for everyone.

Booked this Travelodge as a base for our 4 night stay, myself, Hubby and 2 teenage sons, all the staff were lovely and friendly, the Travelodge itself was clean, the room was so hot we couldn’t breathe even with the window open and a fan on, it’s almost like the heating was on full whack we cut our stay short by 1 day as the heat was insufferable and we all had very little sleep. Despite the fact there are a McDonalds, KFC, Costa and Tesco Express within the car park there wasn’t much noise although we were in a room at the back, the only issue we had was the Costa staff standing out the back talking at 6.30am which wasn’t good when you had only been asleep a couple of hours due to the heat, the carpark did get very rubbish strewn through out the day but was always cleared by the end of the day. The other issue is the breakfast, the food is ok, the hot counter with the food on is right behind the kitchen door so when they come out the kitchen you get whacked with the doo as you are putting hot breakfast items onto your plate, this is a health and safety issue and needs looking at and moving to a more safe position, do not know what they were thinking when they decided that it would go there (not good) there were items of breakfast that had run out and they were slow to replenish .. if the rooms were not like ovens I think we would have stayed there again but not risking it which is a shame as it’s a good base to visit most places in cornwall.
