A really lovely walk which can get tricky if it has rained. Like some previous commenters, I was unprepared and went in trainers and I would advise hiking boots or wellies. Unless we missed something, there was no actual waterfall which we thought there would be though the walk was nice nonetheless.

Lovely place to visit, cool shady, listen to the water while you walk. Fab place for dogs but some owners let us all down by not picking up the mess, despite a tree with poo bags tied to it and a bin to dispose mess in car park.

Absolutely beautiful place to take a walk amongst woodland and a babbling river. You can explore different paths up the hill or just follow the river route. Either way you feel closer to nature for the experience.

The car park is conveniently located opposite the trail head and the walk to the head of the falls is very easy. After that the choice is yours. You can stick to the well trodden paths or go off to explore the many and varied paths that twist and turn through the gorge.

The children loved the mud and adventure of it all, but of course the real star is the falls itself which is not so dramatic in height as it is in length. It’s more like a raging rapids than a great falls but it’s still quite beautiful.

The only thing that spoils it is the selfish dog owners who either do not clean up the mess their dogs make, or who do so but then decide to drop their poo bags wherever they like.

A footpath opposite the car park leads you towards the Golitha Falls.
It is very uneven underfoot so may not suit everyone and certainly wouldn’t be buggy friendly.
Due to the amount of water around, particularly this time of year, it can be very muddy so good walking boots or wellies are recommended.
The area is stunning, green and verdant, moss & lichen covering almost every tree trunk & branch.
The sound of the water is captivating, often drowning out the birdsong.
Walk as far as you can as it gets better & better. There is a rope swing some way down with the tiniest of beaches.
It really is a beautiful place to visit.
