My husband arranged a surprise visit for Sunday lunch on our wedding anniversary. I had not been before so was unsure what to expect. The service was top rate from the start. All the staff were extremely professional and obliging. Their attention to detail could not be faulted. The food was exquisitely cooked and presented and was totally delicious. My husband ordered wine which he enjoyed very much. I was driving so I only had soft drinks but the selection of wines offered was extremely good. I can recommend the roast beef, which just melted in the mouth and was cooked pink to my taste. A wonderful chocolate dessert followed then tea and artisan chocolates were offered in the lounge. A wonderful dining experience and well worth every penny. We are already planning a return visit for my birthday.

Somewhere special for our anniversary and I could not have picked anywhere better.
The staff were extremely professional, kind and considerate and new what they were talking about. The food was excellent, I could not find fault with any of it. I have eaten in Michelin Star restaurants before and the Box Tree was as good if not better.
To me it's the little things that stay with you, they had placed on our table a personalised wedding anniversary card, will be returning to the Box Tree in the very near future.

Went for lunch on Saturday . The plat de jour menu was £37 for 3 courses . My husband had that and I picked off the a la carte which was £67 for 3 courses. I don't like sweets and the cheese board was an option on this menu .All the food was exceptional . The cheaper menu portions were the same size and the food was the same quality. My menu included an amuse bouche which they kindly served my husband too . The staff are friendly and the cheese board was amazing. I would definitely recommend and return .

Went on a Saturday evening plane didn't appear to be full which was a surprise. The staff were excellent, both professional and friendly. We opted for the a la carte menu. Starters of quail were ok, but at this level and price point failed to impress. My main was local grouse which was nicely cooked and presented, I guess to stay up-to-date it had pickled blackberries added which I thought we too strong and overpowering. I sense the kitchen is trying to walk a line between modern trends and the fine classical cuisine it is famed for. All in all a perfectly acceptable meal but there are more better restaurants nearby eg in Leeds.

I booked Sunday lunch here for my husband as a treat as he always wanted to dine in a Michelin starred restaurant.
The Restaurant is so pretty as you walk up to it and is really quaint inside. The staff are super attentive and make you feel very special. All menu choices are explained to you and the fabulous Sommelier helps you with your choice of wines. The dessert options with the wine pairing is a fantastic idea and really made my choice of dessert much more special.
We had a fabulous experience and the food was amazing! We would not hesitate to recommend to others. We will be returning as soon as we can.
