We are a group of 4 from HK , we didn't do the tour but a full day rental instead. Since it was rainy in the morning , we almost decided to cancel the trip, but luckily turned out to be sunny in the afternoon, so we stick with our plan and have started our bike trip around 1pm. Sally and John are very nice person and provided many advices for our trip. Our goal was biking to Melshell Oyster farm then return. Google map advised one way is 47 mins so I think we would have more than enough time to handle this trip... But end up we got tricked by Google map , it took us to go through a bush and rough gravel roads, it was 4pm when we finally get to Melshell oyster, right before they close! The staff at Melshell oyster are very nice, they told me they have a lot of customers biking to their place but they have never seen people biking there from the way that we took, lol!! So each of us have a dozen of oysters as our rewards, it was the most delicious oyster we ever had , it's the oyster full of sweat and effort!! We know we are late, return trip is all about hard pedalling, but still took us almost 2 hours to get to see Sally and John again. I think Google map projected bike time is only reference for expertised bikers , not for amateur like us.
Afterall, when we talked about what was the most memorable thing in our 2 weeks Tasmania trip, we all agree this bike tour is the one!
Highly recommended , but if you are an amateur biker like us , I think better do the tour with Sally.
Thank you for your review. The cycling is great fun out to Melshell Oyster Farm Gate. We are so pleased you made it there and enjoyed their oysters. We are always available for our customers if they need us while renting our bikes. We were glad you all had a great day and that your tour guide included our bikes into your program!
Sally picked us up from our accommodation, that was the start of a fantastic day. We rode mountain bikes through paddocks & stopped at some great wineries. Had a fantastic lunch all supplied by Sally & John. Had a great day, I would highly recommend this winery tour.
Thank you so much for your review. The vineyard tours are good fun, off road and rustic! Our local wineries have beautiful wines available to taste and we are glad you enjoyed them.
I had a fantastic ride with Sally last week through the vine and across paddocks. Sally is a very friendly and knowledgeable person to lead a cycling tour. The route is very safe and there is no need to be concerned about it being difficult. It was so much fun tasting wine too!! The lunch at the end of the ride was a stunner. All local produce. Sally has made her experience a very authentic Tasmanian one. Thanks!!!!!
Thanks so much for your review. It is really good fun, isn't it! So pleased you enjoyed your day, the cycling, the local wines and the lunch. It is lovely to hear that you regard our tour as an authentic Tasmanian experience.
Sally and John went out of their way to make our cycle tour unique and a truely unforgettable experience! We were picked up from our accommodation then set up on our mountain bikes which were very comfortable and fitted with helmets. Sally lead us on a leisurely cycle through four private vineyards giving us local knowledge along the way. We stopped regularly to take photos and of course visit cellar doors for wine tastings. We were delighted to see a private picnic table set up in one of the vineyards with a bottle of wine and charcuterie board just for us. The tour ended with an amazing lunch with another bottle of wine and we were transported back to our accommodation with full bellies and happy hearts. This was a definite highlight of our Tasmania trip and we would recommend anyone of any fitness level to book a Swansea cycle tour.
Thank you so much for your review. It is great to know that our cycle tour was a highlight of your Tasmanian trip. John and I enjoy striving for great experiences for customers with our tours. The local wines and produce are excellent and we love to share it with visitors. We feel that the easy cycling off road through the paddocks and vines is a great experience.
Had a brilliant day with Sally on a private tour. We started with a peaceful ride along the beach topped off with an Oyster tasting. We were then transferred, with bikes, inland to take a tour around 4 vineyards - stopping for a cheese and wine picnic - ending with a lovely lunch at the Milton vineyard. Sally and John couldn’t have done more to make the day such an enjoyable experience. Everything was so well organised that all you could do was enjoy the scenery, the wine, the food and the company. A beautiful day in beautiful countryside.
Many thanks for your lovely review Dominique. It was a fun day wasn't it! John and I are so pleased you enjoyed yourself. We like to make each tour personal and special. We love the Cranbrook Vineyards and Melshell Oyster Gate and loved sharing them with you.
Sally is a great host for a day out cycling around the vineyards. Really knowledgeable of the area, knows all of the vineyard owners and great fun too. She took us around four vineyards with tasting at each and lunch at the end. They also arranged pick up and drop off from our accommodation in Coles Bay
Thanks Jonathon! It was lovely to meet the family and show you our lovely East Coast from a different perspective. Everything is different when you are on a bike. The sights and smells! John and I are happy you all enjoyed your day on tour with us. We certainly have great wines and local produce here. Come back soon.
