Visited today been several times as it’s only 5 miles from where I live , I can actually see it from where I live, did not disappoint today, just me and the dog, (and 14 deer) relatively easy climb considering the height, had snow, sun, hail, and wind, not a good a view as usual but amazing skies and seeing the deer was a bonus

Really pleased we made the effort to climb up from Dunkery Gate mid January. Views were amazing as was the strong wind.

lotsn of various walks available to take you to the top of Dunkery Beacon. We chose an 8 mile round trip which was quite steep in places but worth it to reach the top

We visited on rather a dull day, but it was none-the-less worth the climb. Well used to walking the Yorkshire Moors, this was an easy climb for us. We parked on, I think it's Cook Horn Hill, and it's just under a mile to the top. It's a rugged stoned path and we would recommend either stout shoes, walking boots, or walking trainers. If it's been wet, the path becomes a bit of an obstacle course to avoid the muddy bits if your shoes are not waterproof. There's no such thing as bad weather, just bad clothes!
