Very friendly and welcoming especially during very sad times. Could not have been more helpful and kind. Margaret was fabulous! Would stay again in a heart beat. Room was lovely and cosy. Very comfy bed even while being over 8 months pregnant! Great for people travelling via train, in view from the station

Myself and my hubby have just got back from a 3 night stay at Castle Vale House. We are really happy we chose to stay as it has been great. Margaret the owner is such a lovely lady, happy, smiley and very very welcoming, what a fabulous home they have and to be able to stay here is wonderful. We stayed in room 1 which is huge, with a fab view of the bridge and river, a very comfy bed, great bathroom and facilities, The pre ordered breakfast was cooked perfectly and the home made bread and jams were very tasty. the town is really nice, we did lots of walking in and around the area, the weather was kind to us even though it was cold we had lots of blue skies. We will stay here again if we were to going back here, if you stay here you will not be disappointed.

The star of the show is Margaret, the lady who runs everthing, she is just brilliant. The location and surrounding area and walks are something special and so is Margarets fried breakfast and home made bread.
The rooms are spacious and traditional and it feels like you have been invited in a friends home. We cant wait to find an excuse to go again.

Lovely staff, lovely room, lovely breakfast, And as long as you don't mind sitting round the breakfast table with all the other guests you will be fine.
There is no lounge to sit in for guests in the evening, so if you want to relax in the evening your confined to your room. However the Hotel is reasonably priced.
The towels were old and hard, and in my opinion the double bed seemed very small also the mattress wasn't very comfortable...... a bit like trying to sleep on a bouncy castle. So if you need a firm mattress give this a miss. We left feeling shattered as got very little sleep. Wish we had only stayed for one night not two. Also the WiFi is free but only works on the landing sat on the stair case, no glimmer of it working in the bed room. Wouldn't return on that basis.

During our journey on A1 road, from London to Edenborough, we found this pearl, hides on the Tweed river bank beneath a wonderful train bridge and magnificent view. The place isn't on the main road and the best way to find it is to drive to the train station and to find a narrow lane to the river side, next to the west wall of the station.
You will find an old faction building with comfort nice homey rooms. The owner are very pleasant people, ready to help at any time.
There is a nice familial dining room, serving a good breakfast.
The view for every direction is marvelous.
High recommended place.
