We stayed here recently when visiting a relative. The rooms are all very individual with ours being accessed up a spiral staircase. Our room was spacious and comfortable. The bathroom was compact but functional and the shower was great! Breakfast was good. The owner was very welcoming. Thank you!

My partner and I along with our Westie had a four nights stay and found our ground floor room perfect for our requirements. The beds were very comfortable and the breakfast was such that it set you up for the day. Nothing was too much trouble and we found Sandra very helpful. Evelyn, as host, was also charming. Ideal base for touring the county. We will certainly return.

Room Tip: Room was quiet despite being adjacent to A1

We stayed in a family room. We loved the bath in the room as it was huge. We had such a relaxing time. All the staff we encountered where friendly and had nice touches like remembering your breakfast order from the day before. The only downside was the tv didn't have any signal but that meant we could spend more time chatting.

We stayed here with a group going to a wedding at Alnwick Gardens as it’s only about 10 mins in a taxi - book these in advance ( it’s just off A1 - careful of the junction)
It’s a lovely old quirky place , as soon as I walked in I felt welcome and relaxed. There was a nice fire lit and we all chilled in the lounge before a lovely home cooked meal at the 3 large tables in cozy converted stables. The owners and staff are friendly and attentive and worked hard to make our stay fun and enjoyable.
There are cats , doves and chickens in the rambling grounds. And this is also an Antique business. The rooms are done in a boutique shabby chick style and are very comfortable and all different. The pipes are a little noisy but this is a very old building so that’s not surprising. If you like clinical chain hotels this may not be for you. If you like interesting quirky cosy independent places you will love it!
