Owner description: The House of Hardy Museum displays ta variety of fishing tackle and associated products which were manufactured by Hardy's from the very beginning of the business in 1872 right up to the present day current products being manufactured today. The museum is not just a celebration of all things relating to Hardy's but of British manufacturing at its very best. The "Perfect" display cabinet is testament to a British design from the late 1800's which is still in production today!

Well worth a visit from any fishermen young or old. Leave yourself time as there is plenty to see both new and old..

The museum is interesting but small. Impossible to visit the shop without purchasing a bargain. Friendly staff .

Having lived in the area 30 years ago, and made full use of Hardy's at that time, it was good to revisit. The free museum was a little tired on the outside but inside was as good as ever. Lots to interest even the most casual countryman, all nicely displayed and well explained. The shop inside held a wealth of fishing and sporting tackle, most of it bearing the Hardy's logo, so was of high quality. Altogether a very enjoyable 45 minutes spent wandering around.

As fans of small and specific museums, we were drawn here by the brown sign. Neither of us knew anything about fishing before our visit. The majority of the building is the shop, with the lobby area given over to a history of the company on display boards, and a side room with glass cabinets full of fishing tackle. I'm not sure I'm much more knowledgeable about fishing than before (just not my thing), but the displays were well presented and there was ample information for each section.
