We stayed here in room 5 for a couple of nights and had a lovely stay. Room was very clean and quiet and just what we needed. Having chocolates in the room was a nice touch and hotel was in a great location near shops/restuarants etc in and a short walk to Alnwick Gardens and Castle. Would recommend having food/drink next door at The Plough also.

Room 3 was ours for 2 nights-just after the post Covid reopening.
The owners had clearly spent their downtime well-the rooms are very neatly designed and we have never stayed anywhere so spotlessly clean. This is a small room-about which the owners were very clear in advance-but with the nice addition of an outdoor space which helped a lot.
Add the fact that the building is superbly located for Alnwick’s pubs and restaurants it was the perfect location for a short break.
Thank you for a very nice stay-we hope to see you again soon.

We stayed at the Bondgate for 4 nights during a recent break in Alnwick. We were in room 6 and I would agree with a previous review that it is really only suitable for 1-2 nights stays .
As no meals are provided it would have been good to have had a mini fridge in the room although there is a communal one in the hallway.
The room was well equipped and with secondary glazing not particularly noisy despite fronting on to a busy road.
Our real issue was with the plumbing which was extremely noisy and did affect the quality of our sleep. We were awoken every time a fellow guest used the en suite in the adjoining room.
The hallway and stairs are in need of redecoration and carpeting as they are looking a little tired and not up to the standard you would expect from a Boutique Hotel.
The location is however excellent being just a few minutes stroll from Alnwick town centre.
Our room was not serviced during our stay which is apparently due to COVID measures although we have stayed at other establishments where the rooms are serviced each day.
Our stay was okay and reasonably priced but if we visit Alnwick again I think we would pay a little more and find alternative accommodation that would give us a better chance of a good nights sleep.

Room tip: Room 5 is one of the largest with external window in en suite.

We stayed for 5 nights and the room really not suitable for that. Stayed in room 6 and the noise from the street was terrible at night. They did provide earplugs but I can't use them. The shower is very small and despite being one of the largest rooms that was as well. Once unpacked we took our bags and left them in the car to have as much room as possible. The room was well equipped and we loved the full size toiletries which were great quality. It was also very clean. Would only recommend if stopping 1 or 2 nights but no more.
