Popped in enroute home on a Sunday afternoon drive. The eatery was open, inviting and quite busy so were fortunate to find a table. Very child friendly with ample outside space for burning off energy but also very much geared towards babies.
Produce was nice and fresh, will definitely be back for picking our own fruits later in the summer

My wife visited a few days ago having been told it was a good place. When she got back she said she would not step foot inside again.
The afternoon tea was average and they changed the price after it had been booked although only 50 pence at 15.50 it's expensive. Additionally we paid deposits and one lady was taken ill on the day so couldn't attend. The staff Demanded that the entire amount had to be paid. ( there was no mention of taking off the cost of tea)
At the end they had the audacity to send a cup around asking for tips.

Hello Rob. Thank you for this. As you weren't even there at the time, I'll correct you on everything.

Our afternoon tea price has been £15.50 for about three years, and we have the email quoting that price too. It may be expensive but, we give a lot more food than other places.

The deposits are taken because we have so many parties that just don't turn up after we have prepared the food. The lady that couldn't make it did not inform anyone and the food was made. If she had let us know in the morning she would have just lost her deposit, sadly she didnt, and the food was made and the food was then all taken home in takeaway boxes by the rest of the group.

Finally, and probably the most offensive lie from you review is that we sent around a tip jar. That has never and will never happen. This was organised very kindly by a member of the party.

Maybe in future if your wife has concerns she can bring them up on the day so they can be addressed, instead of getting you to leave an ill informed review that libels yourself

It was really nice to be introduced to this restaurant by my family as I have always found the Kettering area to be a bit disappointing for nice, good quality restaurants. Food was excellent, as was the service, and there is a wide range on interesting goods to buy from the Farm Shop

We haven't visited The Buttery for a year or more so after visiting the local church to remove Christmas wreaths it seemed fitting to go for a lunch meet up with family who live locally. Well well what can I say we had an amazing time in the garden room (our favourite) the food was excellent, presented beautifully hot and delicious. Puddings to die for and even pancakes on Shrove Tuesday. The staff were very friendly professional and didn't intrude or put pressure on us despite us spending all afternoon there. If I had one niggle the roast potatoes could have been more crispy! The extension and new kitchen are an asset and The Farm Shop is lovely. Great job Dovecote we will be back.

Thank totness

Took a friend for lunch although have eaten there before. Staff very friendly and helpful and we were shown to our table which we had pre booked. Restaurant was busy but it ran really smoothly and our drinks order was taken. Our food order was taken a short while later, meanwhile the atmosphere was very pleasant as was the view of the garden. Our food arrived i had Goats cheese and fig salad my friend had sausage and mash both dishes were lovely and well presented. We both enjoyed our lunchtime treat and we will be back.
