We visited lids on a Saturday evening 9 people. On arrival they had no knowledge of our booking . We had booked over Facebook and had receive d replies, so thought a little strange . Fortunately they said they could fit us in . They then said we couldn’t have the festive menu but when we showed proof of the message received that clearly said we could they said they would be able to provide it. After the initial disappointment and mix up the food was delicous when arrived , great choice on Xmas menu and plenty of food. The waiters and staff were wonderful so friendly and polite and couldn’t do enough for us.
Would definitely visit again.

We went as a group of six on a Saturday afternoon. It was very busy. We can only describe the experience as dire and never to be repeated. If you read some of my other reviews you will see that I am actually really generous and try to find something that is positive. I detest it when people actively try to find things to complain about.
On our arrival they had run out of Prosecco and had sent out for new supplies. Not a good start and it went downhill from there. We waited ages for our order to be taken. Some tapas were unavailable, although this can happen at the best of restaurants so we accepted that without an issue. We were waiting ages for our tapas to arrive and when they finally arrived they came in drips and drabs. Some dishes were completely wrong and not what we ordered. Three tapas finally arrived barely warm. They were sent back and the same dishes came back having been reheated in the microwave, however they were then extremely salty. The hamburger slider was actually delicious when it finally arrived. That was the only positive in the whole experience.
We asked for a jug of water and glasses. Four out of six glasses smelled disgusting as though they had been dried with a filthy tea towel. When I asked a member of staff to smell the glasses he agreed that they were awful and said, "I know what it is. They don't clean the water out of the drip tray" as though that was perfectly acceptable. He didn't bring any clean glasses in spite of this.
I know that some friends rate this restaurant highly but our poor experience echoes that of some of the awful reviews. It is a shame but they really need to get their act together all of the time.

My husband and I popped in to get a menu. We had latte, hot chocolate and churros to share. Yummy! Friendly staff, very helpful. Looking forward to going back with the family for cocktails and tapas very soon.

Four of us enjoyed an excellent meal of tapas and cocktails on Sunday evening. The lighting and the ambience were perfect for our family social occasion, and we were warmly welcomed by the waiter. Our reserved table had olives, bread and a dip waiting for us. We took advantage of the 2 for 1 cocktails and ordered the five tapas for £20 with a few surcharges for our favoured dishes. The highlight was the scallops, black pudding and bacon, but to be honest, all other dishes couldn't be faulted. Service was prompt and polite throughout and the bill came to £40 excluding tip, which we thought excellent value-for-money. For two of our party, it was the first time we tried Lids and it certainly won't be the last. We left with a very favourable impression.
