Having read the menu outside we were enticed enough to go in. We were a table of 2 amongst 3 other tables of 4.
We ordered a bottle of white and some water. Neither were opened or poured, not a big issue but doesn’t add to the dining experience and attention to detail.
Tried to order the meze advertised on their menu outside and on their website (still on there today) but was told they’d changed the menu and the chef confirmed he couldn’t put it together either.
The prices had also increased slightly to those advertised.
Alternative starters arrived which were enjoyed. When the mains arrived the chicken risotto was missing the pancetta and peas and had been substituted with onion and cherry tomatoes which was a bit bland. The chef sent his apologies and soon rectified it. Luckily my husbands Cannelloni was thermo nuclear so by the time it was suitable to eat my dish had returned, if a little stodgier due to it being kept heated. The Cannelloni is not cannelloni either as it doesn’t contain tubes of filled pasta but sheets so is more like a vegi lasagne. Portions were a descent size. Food was enjoyable but we didn’t leave thinking we must tell people about this place, which was a shame.
Not much atmosphere and whilst the waiter was polite and pleasant we had to keep trying to get their attention.
The restaurant has potential but needs a good front of house to bring it all together and add some warmth and finesse to the experience.
