We decided to pay the entrance and had a nice hour or so looking around and finding out the history of the battery. Good views of the Needles. National Trust staff very pleasant.

Absolutely stunning, I don't think there is anywhere else in the world quite like it. Was an amazing experience. Visited in the freezing cold where it was windy and wet at times and still loved it. some lovely cafes / restraints n a great view of the needles. If you like outdoor things expect to spend a day walking about the area and bring a camera!

Free parking for motorcycles not sure about cars!

I visited the old battery but the main reason was to get to the Needles as close as possible. It is an interesting place but obviously the Needles steal the show! Worth coming. I paid around £8 admission fee but you can't get the same view from the free viewing points nearby so it was absolutely worth it. And the battery is an extra bit for history/WWII lovers.

My wife, myself and our dog visited the Needles Battery whilst doing a little tour of the island.

We walked up from the Needles Attraction car park, took about 20 minutes all up hill. Although there is a bus for those that don't want to to walk. I would recommend it though as there are great views.

The site itself, run by the National Trust is compromised of the "old" fort, the rocket launch site and the "newer" battery.

The old battery is wonderful, and amazing place with lots of interesting rooms and things to see. The searchlight tunnel is a must, taking a walk down a winding staircase and along a dark tunnel to some of the best views across the needles.

We also stopped off at the cafe there, which is like stepping back in time, with old posters, furniture and even the staff dress like wartime cafe workers.

Loved this place and I would recommend it to anyone visitng the island, especially with kids as there lots of cannons and the like to see.

Thank William J
