Tuck into a tasty chicken and pancetta salad with red onion, tomatoes, baby gem lettuce and Dolcelatte dressing or why not sample the Penne Marco Polo, a delicious plate of penne pasta topped with sautéed duck in a plum sauce, spring onions and sliced mushrooms. Finish off with one of Bella Italia's divine desserts and wash down with a glass of Italian red or white.

We eat here regularly on the way to football, so it is always busy when we are there, more so in the evenings when there is also something on at the Lowry theatre too.

The staff are always friendly and helpful and service and food are excellent.

Ordered 5 drinks when we arrived which took 25 minutes to come to us. We also ordered 1 child’s meal and asked for the main to come with the adult starters (2x sharing starters) after 45mins of ordering the child’s starter and 1 sharing starter arrived. When I asked where the second one was I was told it would be a couple of minutes. Another 10 minutes passed and it still hasn’t arrived but the child’s main had. I spoke to the waitress and told her to cancel the other sharing starter as it would mean we were waiting even longer for our mains. Mains arrived quickly and so did the sharing starter. Told the waiter we had cancelled this as it should have arrived with the others so he took it away. One of the mains were wrong so that was sent back and we were told it would be another 6minutes. When it finally arrived and we all had some food it was actually nice. So I’m only giving 1 star because the food when it finally arrived was lovely.
Service absolute crap. Waitress arguing with the kitchen staff and did not even bother asking how our food was. Maybe she was embarrassed at how shocking the service was I don’t know.
Didn’t even bother staying for the child’s desert which was in the child’s price as we would probably still be sat there now.
Can say we won’t be returning again!!

Visited twice in the past 2 weeks now for a meal before heading for a film. Had both pizza and pasta dishs each time and have been disapointed on both occasions, best thing on the menu is dough balls and garlic butter.
Not much toppings on the pizza with no taste like its not real mozzerella and warm bland pasta.
Sadly feals like corners are being cut on ordering in cheap produce like the cheese and mayonaise ect unfortunately you can tell.
The place is very quiet so sadly no atmosphere and its cold too u would exspect it to be perfect really.

Hi Becky,

Thanks for your review. We are sorry you feel that recent visits to us haven't been up to Bella standard and that the atmosphere wasn't the fun, vibrant yet relaxed vibe it usually is, this isn't like us.

We are sorry to hear that you our usual delicious food standards and usual, generous portion sizes, weren't up to scratch during your visit. We will ensure that the Area Manager checks that kitchen quality controls are up to our highest standards.

In the meantime, if you would like to follow this up with us directly, please feel free to contact us at, social@bellaitalia.co.uk

We hope we get a second chance to welcome you back so we can wow your taste buds next time.
