This was our first stay in the Swan since the reopening.
Having booked for three nights bed and breakfast at a considerably higher price than past stay I was expecting a better experience.
I found some of the staff cold and at times unfriendly, this was common in the dining room. When I asked for a wine recommendation I was told “ we have hundreds of bottles how can I recommend”
The room had a welcoming plate of shortbread on arrival with 1 short. The milk in the fridge was not refreshed on a Dailey basis although a small complimentary bottle of gin was left on the dressing table
The food in the restaurant was as good as ever although at breakfast time the breakfast bar was situated so high up on a bar top I was unable to see what was being offered, this would only be suitable for people over 7 feet tall.
We stayed in the lighthouse room which had had a make over and looked lovely.
The bathroom sink taps turned the wrong way around which was rather frustrating.
There was no packet of biscuits which I would have expected in every hotel.
Although these may have only been small niggles I am uncertain if we will stay again with the room prices being so high and the lack of meal deal which were previously there.More
