My wife & I recently enjoyed 2 weeks at Northcliffe in Maroochydore.
We chose these apartments because of its location & (the photos of) the views from the apartments. Our apartment (No 25 on 7th Floor) faced the river with an outlook to the ocean and a side view of the river & other apartments.
Across Duporth Avenue (on your doorstep) is a shopping centre and the side street, Ocean Street, is the restaurant strip of Maroochydore. Two doors down is the Duporth Tavern.
The apartment block is one of the older apartment blocks built on the Maroochy River, but it is very well maintained with excellent guest amenities, including a pool, sauna, library & free wi-fi (in public area).
The on-site Managers are great; friendly & very helpful.
Our Apartment had been partially renovated & redecorated - kitchen & main living areas & bedrooms repainted. Bathrooms looked original and dated.
The apartment was well appointed and very comfortable with a nice, good size balcony at the front with fantastic river/ocean/mountain views.
If I had a gripe it was the curtains (or curtain backings) in the main bedroom which didn't completely draw (close), meaning that it was very light from around 5.30 am.
No air-conditioning (not necessary) but ceiling fans throughout and always a nice breeze.
However, its the views and the location what make a stay at Northcliffe worthwhile.
Secure parking is provided under the building. Visitor parking limited.

We recently stayed four nights at Northcliffe Apartments. The managers were very accommodating with the changes we made to the length of our stay and the price was good. The unit we stayed in was quite disappointing. Very tired and dated but I suppose that is reflected in the price. Car parking is very narrow we have a mid size and SUV and we struggled to park in our allocated car park as there were concrete drains on one side(I am pleased we didn't have a larger car it would have been impossible without damaging wheels!) The views were amazing and thankfully there was a lovely breeze because we didn't have airconditioning. Which wasn't mentioned to us when we booked in.

Room tip: All rooms seem to have fantastic views. But check for airconditioning

My family stays here every Christmas holidays! So affordable and owners and staff are very friendly. Rooms that we have stayed in are a little bit dated but still nice. Such a good location, right across the road from Woolworths and bottle shop and a 5 min walk to sunshine plaza. Most beautiful views!

Celebrating our first year anniversary, my partner and I were disappointed in the quality of the apartment, but appreciated the views were spectacular.

The toilet wasn't cleaned when we arrived from the previous person which was very offputting.

The decor was dated. Foxtel channels were included but no program to follow what was on or how far into the movie something was.

We were given a late checkout until end of day as cleaning was taking place the next day which was a lovely gesture.

We won't return - for another $50/ night or so we could get far superior comforts.

My husband and I have just come back from spending 5 nights in Maroochy and stayed at Northcliffe.
We were on the 14th floor and had great views of the ocean and river.
Loved the fact we could walk everywhere, most of our time was spent in and around the RSL as we were attending a Navy reunion.
Our unit exceeded our expectations, could not find one negative about it.
Karen was most obliging and has a very friendly manner.
Highly recommend Northcliffe Apartments to anyone wanting somewhere reasonably priced to stay and so central to everything.

Don't let the outside of the building disappoint you. Yes the apartment we stayed in on the forth floor was a little tired however the view will make up for any negatives. All I can say is wow! The main bedroom has ceiling to floor Windows which look out to the Maroochy river. The rooms are quite big and perfectly adequate. The underground parking very secure and in walking distance to heaps of restaurants and bars. Did I mention the view!! If you are not too worried about the age of the apartment then this place is for you. Grab a bottle of wine and some nibbles and you will never leave the balcony.
