Description: The Crazy Bear Beaconsfield opened in 2008 to spectacular international reviews including Conde Nast's Red Hot List for best new hotels in the world. The oldest documented building in Beaconsfield, a fifteenth century coaching inn, has been meticulously restored and elaborately designed to provide dramatic architecture and uncompromised luxury. The Crazy Bear Beaconsfield is a unique oasis in quintessential England and the antithesis to bland hotels.

Best friend booked it in September when I got a new job. Got rescheduled due to lockdown, but finally could go yesterday.
I understand this is quite a ‘unique’ place (don’t go to the loo if you get lost in the house of horrors mirror room).
Afternoon tea - we are both fussy and know what a 5* service and food should be! Especially as it was a treat.
Sandwiches were amazing! Asked for one each extra, cost £5! Usually you get an extra plate for free!
Scones - small and dry. Strawberry jam in a Tiptree jar?! Maybe in Travelodge but not at an allegedly 5* place
Cakes - dry, awful! I don’t remember ever not eating cakes but these were made at least a day in advance. Nothing special either.
Tea - with bearing in mind it was late May, they didn’t have any fruit tea. No hibiscus, rose hip, berries... nothing
Cranberry juice - watered and full of ice, don’t think it has seen a cranberry at all

And my favourite was the service charge, 13.5% by default! For a non existent service.

Just don’t! Especially if you know and want a 5* treat.

Brilliant food. Chefs need some rewards. Great service very attentive. I have allergies and we’re very accommodating to those. My wife is heavily pregnant and again was very accommodating I that too.

Emailed in advance to reserve a table for my mothers birthday. Amazing service through email to arriving on site. Very attentive throughout whole meal, very friendly and polite. I’d emailed in advance to inform them it was a birthday and they reserved a beautiful table and even brought a slice of cake and sang happy birthday as a surprise! Was a really lovely touch and greatly appreciated! Food and decor and service all amazing! Thank you so much.

We went here as a Christmas present in early 2020 and look forward to doing the same, once possible in 2021.
Great food, service and setting. The only shame is we couldn't have stayed in front of the fire for longer after eating! A family favourite.
