We stayed three nights at Posada San Juan. Everything was perfect at this small family run hotel. It's beautifully decorated with great attention to detail and superb staff willing to attend to your every need. I can't recommend this hotel enough if you are looking to stay in the area.

We stayed 2 nights this February at Posada de San Juan. Gabriel was the perfect host as he took time to explain us everything useful about the city and the hotel. The hotel is very nice, authentic, very charming. We felt at home. Thank you very much!

We visited the posada last week, like many, on our way to Chichen Itza.

We were warmly greeted and given very good recommendations for lunch and our stay in Valladolid. There is not much to see in the town - a lovely church and square, but that aside we were told to go out to a lesser visited ruin (Ek Balham) instead to make better use of our time.

The rooms are spacious and clean, with all the amenities one would hope for. Although being in the centre of town, there was no noise inside the posada at all.

In the morning we were treated to a lovely home cooked breakfast in the sun.

I couldn't imagine a nicer place to stay in Valladolid.

This is the kind of hotel you won't want to leave, thanks to the warm hospitality and comfortable surroundings.

The entire property is stunningly decorated, with Yucatan art works tastefully placed throughout the common areas and rooms. The lush, leafy courtyard is the centerpiece, a place to put your feet up, read and enjoy the surroundings. Breakfasts are continental with a choice of several varieties of scrambled eggs, served with tortillas, salsa and black beans. Rooms are spotlessly clean and have interesting details like a shower that opens to an open roof above, allowing you to hear the morning birds as you get ready for the day.

The location worked well for us, a few short blocks south of the main square on one of the prettiest streets in Valladolid. Parking is plentiful. When we visited, a neighbor of the hotel was playing some very loud music a few times, but it was short-lived and never interfered with my sleep.

Special praise goes to the employees and especially Gabriel, the manager, who was welcoming, knowledgeable and helpful throughout our stay. He is truly excellent at his job and made our visit all the more enjoyable.

Posada San Juan is a special hotel by any account. Large rooms, spacious common areas and impeccably furnished with local art and furnishings, this is a one of a kind hotel that discriminating travelers will appreciate. Be sure to spend enough time in Valladolid to enjoy this special hotel, the quaint town, and some of the lesser known (than Chichen Itza) adjacent towns and sites.
