If you come to Ajijic to visit or live, you'll get to know Diane Pearl.

First, it is a great store filled with eclectic collections of jewelry, household items, and the like. Great gifts to bring home.

But Diane is also a centerpiece to know what is going on around town. Need tickets to shows at the Bravo Theatre or the Auditorium or a tour of homes in Ajijic, you'll find them all at Diane Pearl's along with great words of wisdom.

Located in the heart of Ajijic for 14 plus years this is a must stop when you are anywhere near Guadalajara. Just 35 minutes away from the airport, you take a step into the Artist Resort. Since Ajijic is located on the "Trade route" many of Diane Pearl's relationships go back to the previous generation. The family business and cultural tradition artist Merged with this innovator from Connecticut. East coast business savy and Life-time artist found this treasure and before long. From all points in Mexico they found representation. This is what makes Diane Pearl Colecciones the "Center" of Ajijic. Traveling the dirt roads of Mexico in search of unique art was once a "perfect fantasy". Diane and the artist make the perfect bleend of Fine Quality craftsmanship, non-mamufactured art, all at Colon and Ocampo, in the Heart of Ajijic.

You will not be disappointed making a visit to Diane's jewelry store. I have been there twice on vacation and both times I have bought a lot! She has great quality at great prices. John is a real delight. I just love working with him. They have great gift ideas for family and friends back home.

When I started up the street I was a little disappointed in some of the shops, however, the trip was worth it for a couple of stops and this is one of those stores. This store has a small but excellent collection of handicrafts and jewelry and reasonable prices. We went on a day that the stores were closing early and really did not get enough time to spend looking at the great pieces. The owner was great to talk to about the pieces. I really wanted to buy a piece, however, she was short-staffed and unable to wrap the piece I wanted to carry back to Guadalajara. I have been dealing with the owner over the phone and she has been great as we discuss how to pack a piece of folk art and ship it to me. Again, if you are thinking about the market in Tonala there is simply no comparison in the quality with her pieces and ones that are less expensive and have a mass-produced feeling.
