Stayed in room 45, which was at the back of the hotel on the other side of the St Hubert. Wife and I were travelling to Montreal and after 14 hrs could drive no more. We were just looking for a place to sleep and get back on the road again. Went online with our phone and booked a room with a double bed for $83.00 a night. Read the reviews to stay away from the back of the hotel as they were old and in bad need of renovation. When given the room and asked about the condition as it was in the back of the hotel, the front desk said those room were usually rented to truckers who just wanted a bed and to get back on the road. If I wanted a room that had been renovated that would start at $118.00 a night. As we were exhausted and just wanted to sleep we still took the room. Well, you get what you pay for. It was a room right out of the 1960's, one channel on the tv, peeling paint and a bed that was years and years past it's prime. Been a long time since I slept on an angle as we competed to see which of us rolled into the middle of the worn out mattress.

The breakfast in the morning was true continental breakfast, nothing hot with the highlight being a toaster and bread. This place reminded me of the old - out of the way pit stop motel. Definitely 1 star for the rooms in the back of the hotel although I am sure the renovated rooms in the main hotel were deserving a two star rating. I am not complaining as It served our purpose as a quick pit stop; but if there is a next time I will remember that you get what you pay for...... and that definitely applies to this hotelMore
