Nice large rooms. Breakfast buffet is a good blend of western and Chinese. Dinner buffet is awful, go out there are plenty of restaurants within 300 meters. No connecting rooms we were told, but they Upgraded one of our two rooms to a suite and put us on the same floor.
Staff English is limited, but if you communicate in person at the front desk, you can get understood. Allowed a 17:00 late checkup to allow us to take the evening train to Llasa.
First night there was a party down the hall from us that management didn’t seem to want to break the harmony of. The party closed the doors the two times we told them the 20 of them singing was a bit loud. We gave up at 4:30, but the party didn’t. The hotel offered to move us to another floor for the second night, but couldn’t move both of our rooms, so we suggested they have a chat with the partiers instead. One never knows why, but they were quieter the second night (or we were so exhausted we didn’t hear them).
Lobby setup is ridiculous for waiting for your group to assemble: huge space, two chairs. Airport pickup was professional and reasonably priced. So the service and evening food could be improved, and if they threw a couch or two into the cavernous lobby, they would have a world class hotel.More
